Dinner at the Romeo and Juliet dinning room is considered "fine dinning", with a waiter assigned to your table, … and another 2 or 3 tables next to yours. The menu at the RnJ dinning room changes for every meal. It’s a formal 3 course meal, which generally is sufficient to fill your tummy. In the grand European traditions, this is the Captain’s dinning area, and as such, they encourage all guests to be formally attired. In our local contex, polo Ts and long pants for men will get them in. I have seen ladies allowed in with T-shirt n shorts for lunch, but generally a dress or skirt is worn for dinner.

you wil find a envelop in you cabin with the gratuity (ie. tip) vouchers. You can fill out the name of the staff you want to tip and the amount you wish give to that person up to the pre-paid amt. Gratuity over and above that amt can be privately settled between you and the staff.
Look out for the list of the day’s activities on posters outside the buffet dinning room. It will tell you what classes or activities are on and when they are conducted. They have activities like mass dance, origami, towel folding … You can leave the kids at the kids club. They will baby sit the kids all day, including at meal times, till 5/ 6. The kids will have to signed in and signed out. The kids club is fun with activities and games organized for the little ones.
The casino is closed in the day. The pools are smallish and filled with sea water. But the gym is well equipped and there’s a nice selection of board games in the games room. Please bring swimming attire and goggles if you plan to use the pool.
If you are disembarking at Penang, you may walk out to the bus depot a 10 min walk from the harbor. There’s a free shuttle that takes you to Komptar and the other shopping areas in Penang city centre. This bus also stops off at other tourist sights.

Just for your information, the last we board RC, we board quite early. Meals are provided once you board. You can start enjoying the facilities.

For those with kids, me and wife register the kids at the child-minding services to have some time for ourselves. You can check that out.

The captain’s nite is the evening for formal wear. But most ppl bor chap.

This is what I dislike about cruises in Asia. Asians somehow don't respect dress code and fine dining etiquette. In the end the waiters are dressed better then the guests :rotflmao:

When I took the Alaskan and several of the European cruises, people always respect the dress code. It is just courtesy to the captain and chef. Respecting fine dining etiquette.

Free kids club activities organized for 3-11 yo. So you definitely can \"deposit\" your kids. Check out timing when on board. I recall they gave me a pager thingy which will beep if they need to look for me :). That was for a European cruise that we took for RCI. I think Asian cruise shd be the same. 🙂

@ Snowball: mine was 4 and 6 then. But for the older kids, there are also a range of activities that can entertain them. Dun recall that there is the \"pager\" thingy. But we are all in the cruise, so there can be announcements. Food/water will all be provided for them.

We just left them there and enjoy quiet moments :snuggles:

I "deposited" my dc, then 8yr old at their kids club. You can deposit "kids" up to 16 or 18 at their teens club. I don’t remember getting a pager …
