Hi, I have another question on S&T (from Hokkien Prelim 2011), should we use

\"Much to his displeasure, John found out that he was disqualified from the contest\"

      Or

\"Much to John's displeasure, he found out that he was disqualified from the contest\"
Hi ET-PH, I feel the second answer is better as you must inform about subject first. So its 'John' before 'it'. :imcool:

May I know when do we need to use a header like the one below in situation writing. I have went through some assessment books, most of the reports and emails only requires Dear Sir, ...... and ends with Yours sincerely. Thanks.

If im not wrong. That is from the psle booklet right? The header depends to whom u are writing to. If it is to the manager u can write if it is said that it is a letter which is handwritten. If not, it is not necessary. If it is informal postcard it is a must to write. Hope it helped. Thanks.

This is because equipment is an uncountable noun. There is no such word as equipments.

Hi, I actually called MOE regarding format in Situational Writing and the officer who called me back only answered with this: There is no prescribed format.

                  Go figure what that means...
