I’ m thinking of register my gal into TPS for next year 2013 but I am staying in Bedok Reservoir Road. According to the map measurement, my location is abt 5km.

I was wondering do I have any chances to get into this school? Am I under phase 2C or phase 2CS?

Based on this year's statistics, you are safe in P2C. But, why do you want to choose this school? Is this the nearest school from your house?

If you or your spouse did not previously graduate from the school, are not PV or GRL, your child falls under P2C. Only when your child is unable to secure a place in P2C will she be under P2CS.

I was wondering - do I have any chances to go into this school?
Am I under phase 2C or phase 2CS? Pls advise, Thank you!
you'll come under Phase 2C “more than 2 km” category –
since your location is about 5 km from Tampines primary school.
Yes! under 2C, got vacancies for Tampines primary this year.

first, you target schools in Phase 2C.
only when encounter no more vacancy left in 2C (ie. full house), then only move into next Phase 2C Supp.

may read up P1 Registration rules:-
          http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/primary-one-registration/phases/

are you an SC or PR ?
if you're SC, why do you want to choose Tampines primary ?

          if you're SC, in fact:-
you can actually shortlist other primary schools - better than Tampines primary.
You’re classified under “greater than 2km” catergory.

          for example -
with reference to July 2012 Statistics (for 2013 P1 intake), may consider :-

          a)
          Bedok schools

if you have a daughter, can consider:-
          i)
          CHIJ (Katong) Primary
-\tthere wasn't balloting this year, even for those staying > 2 km.

          http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=464&start=820

          ii)
          St Anthony’s Canossian Primary

All SC children (including > 2km ) were admitted into St Anthony Cannosian in Phase 2C.
Balloting was conducted for PR children residing outside 2km of the school.

          http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=3487&start=440

If you have a son, can consider:-

          St Stephen

All SC children (including > 2km) were admitted into St Stephen in Phase 2C.
Balloting was conducted for PR children residing within 1km of the school.

          http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=3487&start=440

          b)
          Geylang schools

          i)
          Haig Girls
(ie. if your child is a daughter)

All SC children (including > 2km ) were admitted into Haig Girls in Phase 2C.
Balloting was conducted for PR children residing outside 2km of the school.

          http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=459&start=540

          ii)
          Geylang Methodist

All SC children (including > 2km ) were admitted into GMS in Phase 2C.
Balloting was conducted for PR children residing between 1km and 2km of the school.

          http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=459&start=540

          c)
          Marine Parade schools

          Tanjong Katong

All SC children (including > 2km ) were admitted into Tanjong Katong primary in Phase 2C.
Balloting was conducted only for PR children residing between 1km and 2km of the school.

          http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=464&start=820

          Ngee Ann
All SC children (including > 2km ) were admitted to Ngee Ann in Phase 2C -
with remainder 4 places left for phase 2C Supplementary.

          http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=464&start=840

          d)
          Tampines schools
          Poi Ching

              Hi,

My son is an International Student and was not able to get into Opera Estate Primary School at Phase 3 registration. He has now been allocated to Tampinese North Primary School.

Just a couple of questions I would like to ask parents with children in the school:
              1. What are the class sizes like in TNPS?
              2. Are there many international students in the school?

              Thanks!

                  Hi SHMof3,

The size per class in TNPS is around 25 - 30 students and yes there are quite a few international students in TNPS but unable to quote you how big this group is.
