Same cab, only diff colous (red, Green, and blue), did not see Maxicab.
HK cabs very strict on taxi passengers, I think max is 4. (u need 2 cabs)
Taxi is always convenient, if u have $$ to spare
We went Disney last, took cab, to airport, about hkd 150.
From airport, they have easy instructions to point u to train, taxis, and buses. Ask your hotel to give u more tips on bus.
Lastly, avoid carry luggage on bus/mtr during weekends or peak hours. Super-packed, and your luggage will block people. -
hi tango,
how old are the 2C? The guidelines given are as follows:
1. A child under 3 is not counted.
2. 3 children aged 3 or above but each not taller than 1.3 metres in height are counted as 2 adults.
In HK, most of the taxis can seat 5 adult passengers (there’s a green plate outside the taxi indicating whether it can seat 4 or 5 passengers).
In your case, you have 4A and 2C. If one of the child is under 3, then yes, all of you can sit in one taxi.
However, do note that other than the number of passengers, another main consideration is the number of large suitcases you have. I don’t know how many large suitcases all of you will be carrying. Can all of them fit into the car boot? -

Shamrock? We got 2A4C, two Queen-size bed. Almost $sgd300, but Jordan MTR below. Convenience stalls 5min walk. Parklane and Temple street 10min.Hi mamemo & mummy of 2,
Thanks for sharing the infor.
I shortlisted the following hotels:-
YMCA > wanna book but all rm type fully booked for the date I require
Royal park > read that it quite a distance & ned to cross a bridge to MTR? My 4 yrs old quite lazy to walk so might be an issue.
Prudential > gd location but ned to climb few flight of escalator to the hotel lobby & cost aro $320/nite
Cityview > price seem reasonable & location ok but room too small for family of 4 so still considering
So now I still searching.... -
tango12, you can click on the link below. Links are provided if you want to make a taxi booking. They should be able to advise you if you can book maxi cabs. If you intend to just take normal taxi, there's really no need to make any booking. Taxis are plentiful in HK! Even during peak hours in TST, I didn't have to wait for taxis at all. The minute i stretched out my hands, taxis appeared (not exaggerating!)

The 3 colours of taxi indicate the geographical areas they can travel in. -
shamrock has 2 queen size beds? hmm not shown on their website leh… I used to stay at prudential 7 years ago when I last went to Hong kong, which was before their renovation. location is super as the Jordan mtr is just below. but need to take escalator to the lobby. their concierge also wasn’t very helpful.
like French fries, YMCA is fully booked during the period I want. so I booked citadines premium. but still looking around to see if there are better choices…

Personally I like HK island. More pleasant atmosphere not so 复杂。 I find TST less pleasant and more 复杂。 Somehow more foreign workers loitering around there too. Furthermore Ocean Park, Peak, Stanley are all on HK Island. As I had kids, I also did not visit night markets on Kowloon side during my most recent trip. After our stay at Crown Plaza Causeway Bay, we stayed another 2 nights at Disneyland Hotel and went Nong Ping 360 from there. If I go HK again, I'll do the same thing. -
i am trying to diy my hk trip n see if can save
more without gg through agency.
i can manage to bk all hotel n air tickets but i
am thinking how to bk airport transfer to hotel n back to
airport cos agency will arrange that.
any one can share experience or advice on when n how to bk this??
many thanks appreciated..
Take their airport express, or airport bus.
We took bus A21 to Jordan MTR (45min) . Only thing is u have to pull the luggage onto the bus.
HK public transport is even better than Singapore's standard. (frequency, connectivity, and reliability)
We can live without cabs for most of our itinerary.
but i am travelling with 4A2C.
so taxi would be inconnvenient??
is there any directions to the airport bus?
usually when i come out i saw the MTR stn.....
and cos disney is always my first stop, is there any
transport i can bk at their hotel to travel to city hotel?
i wonder is there a sg maxi cab type in hk where i can bk..
thanks once again and sry for my long questions..
I went with 4A2C as well. can fit in the cab. they can seat 5person. 1 thing to note is that the taxi drivers duno locations...you have to tell them the street name of the place where you want to go. I told them go TIM HO WAN, they duno where. must tell street name at shum shui po then they know. -

Maybe need to wait for my girl to be older then have kaki to go shopping
