Onsponge can be bought online from their website.
I bought it, used it but found some questions that are very different from what is expected from the school, maybe above their supposed level. So in the end cast it aside. With assessment books & exam papers (I did not make my son do every sums), he managed to score reasonably well in his school exam. Maybe his school set easy papers.

              Champion,

For the chinese reference, how your girl deal with words she not familiar? There is a lot of it inside. We don't know what is relevant . Son used to spend three hours weekly on it, include-going through the cd, and checking up meaning of the words he doesn't know. Very
              Tedious.
I don't intend to buy any more compo guide. Leave it to tutor.
              Good Morning Club 2002! :grphug:

              Jedamum,
You mean the following Chinese reference book?
              http://i50.tinypic.com/ek3o5l.jpg\">

Ok, DD1 has weekly worksheet given by CL T after he finishes teaching that topic. I see that DD1 is quite weak on the area \"造句\" so she will refer to that guide book to find clue on how to construct sentence for that particular words.

              http://i45.tinypic.com/23shizc.jpg\">
When we go through the book together for revision, she will highlight the meaning in yellow and I explain to her the meaning. As per the above example - I told her the word \"教导\" comes from \"教育指导\" .
Next she has to recognise the words are 识写字 - meaning she is expected to know how to write as it may come out in the exam component to write without giving any choices.
Last, she has to know how to 词语搭配 - ie usually it comes with what kind of other words to match - eg 细心教导, 耐心教导 etc...We will try to construct a sentence based on the words or if not, she will try to memorize the given example 造句.

              http://i48.tinypic.com/1znwuaf.jpg\">
Above is taken from RGS SA2 2011 - this is the component that DD1 is very weak at so I will try to run through it before asking her to attempt the paper. Before she starts writing, I will write out which chapter this particular word is taken out from - eg 教导 is taken from Book 4A, 第三课 so also to remind her that words from 4A will be tested too! 😉

This is my little sharing of how I coach DD1 with that book - it might not be the same for others but we are comfortable with this type of arrangement 😄

                Champion,

                Thanks for sharing!
I think I will adopt your strategy too.
We used to spend a lot of time on 构词.
                To find out the meaning.

                        Mummy Just4fun :hugs:
 😉 I am also struggling, trying to balance between my work & family. The 3 kids age are quite far apart so at times (or rather most times) also trying to allocate equal times to different of their needs

For Mother Tongue, it still manageable between me & DD1 - she is more co-operative 😂 I have another dd2, P1 but she is the total opposite! 😓 A typical potato child - anything to do with Chinese, she will :siam: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:
