Hi there,
Are you a proud parent of an artistically talented child? We're on the lookout for 'em!
I'm a writer/producer for local production company Ochre Pictures and we're currently looking for child prodigies to feature in our new Okto Channel programme -- a day in a life of an artist/child talent. We are currently in search for extraordinary, young artistic talents in Singapore.
The search for Singapore's Young Artists have begun and we want your young ones to be part of it!
He/She should preferably be:
- Dabbling in the arts: dance/drama/fine art/music
- Have received awards and accolades for his/her artistic endeavours
- A seasoned performer or has had work exhibited in a public space
- Eloquent
- A pleasant onscreen personality.
Each episode will feature a day in a life of a young talent as he/she goes about her daily routine. The episode will end with the talent participating in a 'big event' (a performance, an exhibition, a competition etc.)
Think your child fits the description and wants to be on TV?
We'd love to interview your child, you as parents, the teachers and friends too!
We will probably start shoot in November and we'll probably just need 3 days with your child. (it doesn't have to be back-to-back, it could even be half days but we'll sort out the technicalities soon).
I look forward to hearing from you and meeting the undiscovered talents!
Do drop me an email at [email protected] should there be any queries!
Best Regards,
Ochre Pictures Private Limited.

HI,
I’m Wendy and new to this site. Just to give a little background : I started as a TV producer in TCS (yest, way before there was an MCS) and have been running my own talent agency for the past 13 yrs, managing Celebrity Artistes.
I have been asked time and again by parents who want to get their kids into TV or commercials, HOW DO I GO ABOUT DOING IT?
There have also been times, which sadly, the parents have found themselves not paid or unfairly treated by BAD production houses.
I will try to help answer your questions as best as I can.
I will however, not answer questions of which agency is best or if XYZ production house is bad.
But feel free to ask me any relevant questions and I will share to the best of my abilities, and so that the knowledge will be shared to many. -
HI,
I’m Wendy and new to this site. Just to give a little background : I started as a TV producer in TCS (yest, way before there was an MCS) and have been running my own talent agency for the past 13 yrs, managing Celebrity Artistes.
Because I cast for TV commercials & Films & TV my question to you is "why are you sending your child to modeling courses?"
If your aim is to get her be more expressive and more outgoing , to learn communication skills. There really are quite a number of kids modelling courses out there that you can sign her up to.
Do note that they WILL ask you to sign up for expensive photoshoots to get headshots for your child. Headshots are important so its up to you to judge if you can afford it. I wld not spend more than $200 on it.
If they promise your child auditions, here are some things to note:
1) Find out what the job is about eg: is it a print shoot, TV commercial
2) what role your child is playing…eg:dancing, playing in the pool
3) what s/he needs to wear to audition. If she’s playing a child waiting for school bus, best to go in school uniform. If she is playing on a beach…beachwear…you get the drift. Dont wear swim suits though.
4) Most important : Make sure you are there at the audition and make sure you can attend the shoot.
Hope this helps.
