          hi jamesbond!
          i marked the length of identical rectangle is x and breadth is y.
          after i marked i saw each side of the given figure is x+y
          2x+2y=44
          x+y=22
          area of the given fogure is 22*22=484cm2

                Eugene can advance 6m in 8 sec, so 12m in 16 sec.

                Then he falls back 2m after 1 sec rest.
                Nett, he advances 10m in 17 sec.

                It will therefore take him 9 x 17 = 153 sec to reach the 90m mark.

                From the 90m mark, he will need another 12m (ie. 16 sec) to reach point B.
                153 + 16 = 169 seconds

                      Earlier post was incorrect. Sorry.


                      White Triangles: 1+2+3+4…+100= 5050
                      Black Triangles: 1+2+3+4…+99= 4950 ( Gauss Theorem )
                      Total: 4950 + 5050 = 10000
                      4950/10000 = 99/200

                      Hence, answer is 2.
