This morning, my daughter was refusing to get out of bed to brush her teeth and go to school, then i asked her what happen? she told me she had a night mare, then told me\" mummy why don't u count to 20? then i will be fine \" i told her ok, i started counting, 1, 2, 3.. ( while i was counting, i was washing my hands in the bathroom after putting on my hair serum
)
then when i came out of the bathroom and say 20. she suddenly jump out of bed and say \" got u!!!\" then started laughing

Mummies with older kids (say above 5 years old)
When did your kid start to socialise with other children? My boy can socialise with adults but not children.
Do your kids have friends in school? or still a loner? -
Double E:
My son have friends even from nursery. Just that it is other pp treat him as friends but he didn't bother. Lol. He even had a best friend in nursery. The two buddies will read books together. That's all he did I think. The only thing is that he doesn't initiate play. So it's always the other person initiating, he just follows.Mummies with older kids (say above 5 years old)

Must say that he has 'ren yuan'. Whichever sch he went to, there will be someone trying to make friends with him. Now he also have friends in sch and he will tell me what they did together.
If it's about introducing himself, playing with friends and talking about them etc, I think it only started this year in primary 1. -
my daughter was quite a loner in Kindergarten and nursery.
she doesn't intiate play with her classmates tho her classmates wanted to play with her. so in the end they just left her alone.
but she is better in primary school too
she has her lunch kakis and if i happen to bring her home from school when i am not working, i will also keep a lookout for her interaction with her classmates.
There was once i saw her classmate putting her arm around her shoulder and both of them seem to be gossiping and laughing aloud
it seems to get better when she grows up.
she is more aware that she has gotta have friends, like once when we were walking home from school , she bumped into her classmate waiting for her mum to buy food, she went up to her classmate and say :\" hey you got iphone too! do you play angry bird? \" :rotflmao: -
My 5 year old has no friends at school. He doesnโt initiate play nor respond readily to his friends. So they tend to leave him alone. Very sad. After school all the kids will say โbyeโ to each other except to my son. But my son is still blissfully unaware. But he plays with some of my friendโs kids though he doesnโt talk much just some โno I donโt want!โ etc.

Don't worry, it will get better. Mine didn't even recognize his classmate when we met her outside (k2 time). And his class only had 12 kids. Now he can tell me who and who did this and that. Even told me which of his classmates stole from the bookshop and how angry his form teacher was and what she said. Lol.
Mine when his classmates said goodbye or hello, he ignored them! It was only after we rehearsed and role played at home what to do when someone says hello or goodbye to u, then he got better.
Someday your boy will meet a friend who can click with him. Perhaps right now there isn't one yet. -
My boy also I think have selective friends. He doesnt talk to his friends but he is aware of their presence. I think he doesnt know how to express himself yet. But teacher has told me he and his friends are chasing around each other when they are at the playground.
My boy does talk to his little bro, the the little bro, being little, always never reply him
But I am happy to see my boy attempt to talk to his little bro.
Now he also start to be aware of his baby brother (no 3). When he reach home, he will ask what is the baby doing? When I ask him to give baby a hug or kiss, he will do it. Last time he totally refuse to touch his little brother (no 2).
I am also hoping through time as he grows up, he will become better. Actually I realised my boy hold conversation better in mandarin than in english. He never echos when he speaks mandarin.. But he is by right, english speaking and understand english better ... (hope i am making sense here).
