Funz:
      Proper lot lah.

Just wondering if there is any rule against that. Since there seem to be a lot of rules that many of us are unaware of.
There is no specific rule for dis, but there is a chapalang rule which d warden can throw at u, which is Rule no. 16 (HDB carpark rules). It states:
\"Failure to obey lawful directions given by Parking Wardens.\"

        You serious one not?

Anyway I did not have a chance to clarify since I saw DH heading towards my car and complied with the warden and moved off.

I am usually rather co-operative with them since their job's not easy and they do get a lot of 'poop' from people. So if it is not an outright abuse of their authority, I tend to comply. Very tiring to be confrontational ya know.
What about if you park your car in a parking space but do not get down, just to wait to pick someone up?

Went out with DH to tabao dinner. I parked and stayed in the car while DH went to buy the food. A warden told me to move off or put a coupon. :?

          Hi, Funz.

I encountered the same situation before, the warden replied as, once the vehicle utilize a parking lot, it's liable for the charges; regardless if any driver or passengers in the vehicle. He quoted private chargeable car parks as example, once the vehicle enter, the charges applied, vacate the car or not...

Which made sense lah, so I bo pien kwai kwai put coupon ๐Ÿ˜‚

But the EPS charges by per minute (unlike coupon parking charges by half hourly even if u parked for 5 min) and most private parking have a ten minutes grace period.
Ya lor, that's what i was muttering to myself too... picking up pre-ordered satay also kena tear coupon...
Think usually happen at carparks in the central, in my case, Newton Food Center, there is always shortage of parking lots during peak hours, wardens are taking such measures to free up lots...

Limlim San, I think it is the \"suck it up\" that is causing the prob. I think u just mean \"accept it\".

suck it up as in LLST..

            LLST is vulgar?

Oh limlim, must I be explicit? Think of a part of your body that goes up when sucked upon. That's why its so vulgar. Please do not use it when talking to Ang Mo nang.

Imami is right. I do not know the acronym LLST ...
 Really? Never knew it alluded to that. Thought it simply meant to stop complaining and deal with it.

              seriiiious!
              me not joking.
              see here, Rule no.16:http://www.hdb.gov.sg/fi10/fi10327p.nsf/w/CarPark1RulesNFine?OpenDocument
In my observations, park wardens normally give some grace period lah,
unless u kena niao ones or u hv been sitting in d car too long without putting coupons.

Oooi.... better don't lah, he could have booked you with contempt/cheat leh...

One of my friend had an expired coupon on his dashboard, he parked his car and got down, while chatting on the phone and sorting out his trunk, he got booked for displaying an expired coupon, amounting to cheat... ๐Ÿ˜“

Did you know thereโ€™s difference between โ€˜cheatingโ€™ on coupon time??

If u tore 11.00am (a later time) and say they checked @ 10.50am, u get a heavier fine (for cheating) than if u tore 10.45am and came back late by, say, 15mins @ 11.30am.

Makes sense. 1st one - intent to cheat, 2nd one, simply running late.
