Is USA ditching their way of schooling in favour of Asian-style schooling?

We are not testing our pre-schoolers yet. Unless you are trying to get your pre-schoolers to get into certain centers to prep for P1

We are not even making pre-school education compulsory yet.

I thought we are going the other way? Less homework, MPs echoing to scrap PSLE, no banding for school

Swinging to either extreme is the easy part for education, finding the balance is what most cannot achieve now. We are still searching for the balance point too.

              Yes, I know.

We are part of Asisn-styled education. Though we have not experienced the most stressful aspects, it's already stressful for some parents and kids.

I think some of our pre-schoolers are well-prepared for such tests, reading at all the courses that they are attending.

I hope it will never happen here, this testing of pre-schoolers. Testing pre-schoolers while they are in kindy is not the most frightening scenario. The existence of cram schools to prepare kids for pte kindy entrance exams, that's stress to the extreme.

From the numerous PTM that I attended in my kids’ kindy, there are some form of assessments but not stress inducing becos it’s based on observation and not a standardized test and does not affect P1 placement.

Nothing is wrong for putting kids into some sort of test here and there.

How about parents who put their kids into IQ test, to know what IQ points their kids belong to.

Living in Singapore must have competitive mentality. In other words adopt the same title as this forum.

I have no issue with parents who want to send their kids for whatever tests they deem necessary. It’s their choice.

If there are kindies that test kids, I will choose those that do not.
