I want to share this story, i dont know how about other parent look at this issue.

I enrolled my 2 yrs old daughter to this Shaws at Katong and the reason i want enrolled her is because i like the curriculum and the environment. I was so excited abt it but at that time i am still bot sure abt the sch bus issue cos they have to check.

The principle said that they have open house on following Mon so she said that in order to secure the place i have to register etc so i went back on fri night and told my hubby and we went down the next morning (Sat).

I call up the sch this week and check what is the news for sch bus.
The sch bus fees is $210 is a bit too ex for me but never mind since i like the sch i got no choice. But i realise that my 2 yrs old dd will be in the sch bus for 1 hr plus and i find is way too long for a 2 yrs old child so i called the principle and told her abt my concern and she told me this is the best she can and ask me to face reality, i was surprise to hear this frm a principle. I told her never mind i will see what i can do so intend to fetch my dd myself but the timing crush with my elder dd timing so i cant do that but to chose another sch for my younger dd.

I called up this morning and talk to the principle abt it and ask her do not bank in the cheque etc. cos we decided to withdraw it out cos since i have no way out frm this and we dont think is good for a 2 yr old child to spent such a long time in the bus.

THe principle said \"ok, Fine but Eileen is not very nice to do this cos we reserve a slot for you and you tell us you not interested\"

I told her \" well you as a educator and a principle i hope you can see the point that is not very good for a 2yr old child to take such a long journey\". and she said \" ok whatever. Pls return the uniform\"

I felt so angry but at the same time i feel so lucky cos my dd is not with this Shaws cos what her concern is not \"About my daughter but only her sch\"

U know for pats schoolhouse at Siglap the principle Eileen, when i told her i want my 2 yr old dd to take sch bus she look at me in surprised and said are u sure so i ask her what is her concern? she said she feel that she is a bit too young to take sch bus and she suggest why not you just fetch her for the 1st 3 months then later u see how so that she will feel better aft settling down at sch not too much for her to cope on the emotional part. Just for your info i din sign her up aft that but i an gg back to her liao.

I want to point out is such a big different between this 2 principle.
One only concerning abt her sch
        One concerning abt my daughter.

Parent have to look at this when you look for sch.
the passion for the children not just only your sch.
attitude change when parent decided not to sign up.

        Thanks for reading
        Eileen
Well, you were undecided and you left the school in a lurch.

I don't see how this qualifies as the principal not caring about her students, more likely she doesn't care for your indecision.

How does this even qualify for a title like \"Bad Experience with Shaw's\". She returned your cheque and didn't charge you for the uniform, didn't she? She has no right to feel irritated with you and show you her unhappiness?

          Hi,

I thinknu don’t get my point from the story at all. I am concerning the time in the school bus and the principle don’t see my concern at all. When I talked to other principle and even mothers about the timing of the school bus. The 1st reaction is wow long hr in the school bus and is so different from other sch.

Example now… My friend likes my daughter school that she is gg to but distance is a bit far for her and the principle is concern the journey for the child.

Yes she gave me back the cheque, Yes cos if she don’t I can also stop the cheque, you get it so it dosen’t matter on the cheque so much but is her TONE when she ans me…

You just called the bank to stop the cheque clearance and pay admin charges of $30, right?

I think I just trying to share my exprience and you might not see my point is fine then just go ahead with your view cos mine view might not be your view.

Simple here… If you see my point then i dont have to say much but if you dont then go ahead. Every people have different perspective! I am not putting here to have Judgement is more on sharing. If u see it as a judgment then you will see unfair or as what you said "qualify".

You can dont qualify that tittle but for me This school qualify it.

Schools are also running a business. No matter what the reason is, you did leave them with some

inconveniences. Sorry, I have to disagree with you.

They do not have to return you with the cheque, by right.

I dont think you are seeing the picture here..... is ok that you disgreed..... I am not talking abt business here..... I am just giving my point of view according toward the school. I am not a person who do business... I know nothing abt that. I only as a parent stating my point of view. Just like i said you can go ahead with it. If you feel unjust for the school or talking abt business then i dont think this is a forum for it cos i thought this is a forum for education. My corcern of problem that I had with the school it might not be your problem but toward me it dose really matter.

it may not be any fault of either party… simply - u wanted the sch but the location is far, the principal couldnt help more than providing the sch bus…

                      so the transaction fails… that’s it…

i think i know where this shaws at katong is… i acc my friend to enrol for her dd last time… the principal, not too sure of the name already, was polite and not much of a problem to me… maybe it was a different person but nvm…

The point is that this is a public forum, that is, if you wish to post an opinion on a matter, particularly when it impacts on the reputation of another party, then you must be prepared to have it challenged.

I have nothing to do with Shaw, but you turned something which was at least partially your own fault, and came to a public forum where there are interested parents, and basically accused the principal of being uncaring about her students.

                        Is that fair or correct?

Her tone to you was unfriendly, and why not? You caused her an inconvenience and possibly lost business, did you not?
