@yeomaylin: Unfortunately, my agenda is utterly packed for the next few years (at least)

@Herbie: Definately! 100%! (Well, that was how I survived) That is of course provided that the student has strategies to tackle narrative and recount type essays.
@sunnydays2: sentence structure is a foundation grammar issue. In what way is your child unable to form sentences?

My son is now in Sec 1 and English is his weakest subject, hates to write and recently failed a expository writing. He is a easy going child, normally goes with the flow and when asked for his opinion, his usual reply is, ‘I don’t know’.

Do you have any suggestion how to motivate/stimulate his interest in language? Expository essay can ‘kill’ him!

              Hi Hassnain,

Could you PM me your contact number instead? I will address your enquiry over the phone 🙂 [ I don't think I am able to give you a lengthy response through the comments section due to time constraints.]

                Hi all,

May I know how do we study for English language examinations? I mean even after reading the newspaper frequently and also novels and classics, it is still difficult to score for English especially essay writing and comprehension (paper 2).

May i know any tips or methods to study for English or to build up a wide range of vocabulary?

                Thank you! 🕺

Thank you for your help! Actually, I do have a word bank where I would record down unfamiliar phrases and words that I have read.

I would try to read more often during the upcoming holidays too! Hope this would help my English! 🙂

Hi phppsmss, I know I have asked you this question before but I would still like to try my luck (or blessing) this time again. Do you teach creative writing for P5 (next year) student? I truly hope that you can guide and teach my DD in creative writing. Please help to "save" her.
