      Do u all agreed that to memorise/writing down of model compo is a good way to improve their paper 1?

      depends the child's ability.cannot be memorise the whole compo. memorise some phrases and use in appropriate plot. now only my so. started to use good phrases, remember from stories.previously he refused to do.he is lazy to write and he wanted to write gist. 😓

          Stress? No stress.

          Yesterday, I told dd that she can decide how much homework and exam preparations she wants to do for the coming SA2. This came after I got really angry when she was dilly dallying (again) when I tried to do corrections with her. Sigh! Must let her grow up and make her own choices.

          So, tomorrow, it's off to her friend's house to play after school, then back for a Mid Autumn celebration in school in the evening. No stress.

          Just Mummy stress wondering if it's too soon to let her make her own decisions.
          i also don't know how to make him \"grow\".
          yesterday i explained to him,he has no patient to listen.don't bother about the exam dates.how many days have to prepre, how much. i told him study by urself or else go to tuition.choose one.don't torture me.

            Definitely for chinese compo as we don't use such flowery description in our daily usage and DD1 doesn't read enough chinese books. But not the whole compo, only good phrases to describe happy, sad, angry or a particular scene eg victim in car accident which DD1 would have problem describing.

                  Yes, one step at a time. Also concentrating on P4 SA2 first (though the thread on current PSLE is freaking me out somewhat :yikes: ).

                  DD1 and I were supposed to be starting on oral these few days but our engines not warming up leh... Today she'll be back late cos of CCA and tonight my neighbourhood is having a mooncake festival celebration, so I guess we can always start tomorrow - heh heh...

                  Then, there's also our ritual Sunday morning walk in the park... 😂

                  Well, good luck to all mommies and daddies and dc on the coming year-end exam! 加油哦!!

                    u still practice oral with your dd?
                    i told my ds that i didn't want to practice with him this time round because in SA1, i vomit blood over his underpreparedness, language structure etc and ended up tension :torchme: and he got major scolding :rant: from me. but he said he rather i scold him than not go through with him.... 🤷
                    told him to read to himself for preparation....

                      @jedamum

                      I have no choice, even if I vomit blood I still need to practice the orals withhim. At the end of the day, it really makes a difference in boosting his confidence.

                      Lucky his orals are over. Our next tasks are compo & 作文。 加油 everyone! Rewards come after hard work!

                        talking about oral, heard from dd during her CL oral she overheard the one before her could not describe the pics given… the girl told the teacher she has never encountered such incident before so could not talk anything about it… but the teacher did help the girl by asking more questions about the pics… hope she is ok…
