Handwriting is most important in a student life as well as in our personal life also. So it should be always clear. If your girl’s still cannot changes her bad habit then I think you have to consult with some good handwriting teacher and advised your girl to write handwriting everyday.

How about the way a child holds the pencil… Do we need to insist that they hold the pencil THE correct way?
Ok, you know there is a generally accepted way of holding a pencil. Any deviation from that finger posture, I take it as wrong way of holding a pencil. Is it necessary to correct the child who is learning to write? -
i cane my kids last time when they write untidily… this does much help as they are writing nicely and neatly now…

It allows you to inpute your own sentences and then print. FOC. I usually create a short story about things which relate to my child, print and let her practice. She is more motivated to write about things that she is familiar with and in this way I can engage her better. -
I trained my kids of how to write neatly by:
When they write untidily in the book, I will get them to rub and write the answers again.
I will get those books with many lines to train their handwriting.

My child’s School teachers complimented that my daughter has very very neat hand writing for both English and Chinese! as a parent, I felt very happy, all my effort pay off. -

Just a suggestion :
Instead of practising handwriting, send the children to art class. By learning how to draw, it helpps to achieve better handwriting. -

Your post came at a right time. Yesterday I was sitting with my little one while he does his paper work. I noted that he was drawing better than before, and yup, he was writing better than before. All the letters, spaces are better positioned and appropriately sized. -

Your post came at a right time. Yesterday I was sitting with my little one while he does his paper work. I noted that he was drawing better than before, and yup, he was writing better than before. All the letters, spaces are better positioned and appropriately sized.
I guess the art class helped him a lot. I didn't give him any supplementary to practise handwriting. Only gave them plenty of pre writing exercises (eg. Dots to dots, maize, colouring)
As children grow, the space awareness and the gauging sense grow better, so their handwriting will improve. It's best to change them while they are in kindergartens, else their ugly handwriting will stay with them for life.
