      minminXP:

I would transfer next year if I could but I wish to finish my O levels first instead of just transferring there mid-year. But I'm not actually sure whether I can try for year 4 or 3 if I audition under DSA-JC.

So you have a similiar case with D dancer above to finish 'Os' first. For your case, since you do not have the IB background, they'll probably ask you to retain a year in order to catch up with the syllabus and the style of learning. I'm not very sure about this though, they'll probably look at your results too.

I know quite a bit about the IB diploma actually, because my older brother is currently in an IB school. The only difference is that my six subject will be a lot more stressful.

You talking about the sixth sub or total six sub?[/color]

      For your latest post:

I emailed the student admissions officer at SOTA about available places and she replied that the number is not confirmed even when I asked whether there would be at least one slot available. That is what worries me.

Like I said, they will not commit a figure. Just go with a open mind for your audition. Give them your best on that day.

Furthermore, I don't mind retaining a year or two, but I'm afraid that the DSA-JC category may limit me to only entering the audition as a year 5 or 6 applicant.

That's good if they know if you are willing.

Usually in April, may. You may attend their symposiums to find out more...think around Feb.

When you opt to transfer school in Sec 1, what do they require for visual arts? A portfolio? Or on-spot test?

                  Hi ImMeeMee

                  CO= Confirmed offer.
The students apply for DSA( Direct School admission) in their P6 mid year. If they are accepted by the school , then they are given a CO. Sometimes they could be given a WL (Waiting List).

IB = International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma
I think SOTA has this instead of A levels.

thanks for information, sun. I suagu ...

btw, are all admissions into SOTA through DSA or are there opportunities to apply after PSLE results are out? Sorry if I am asking silly questions or if the questions have been addressed at this forum. Too many pages and havent gone through all yet.

                      100% thru DSA.
You still can join after PSLE results but guess you will have to attend next round of Talent Academy in March or June for following year intake.

Are kids grouped according to PSLE score in sec 1?

                        Are classrooms airconditioned?
