snggy, thanks for information. Its a great help to know that.Swimming lessons organised by Chongfu School is not complusory. They are offered at attractive highly subsided rates. If you are keen, the kids can learn swimming by signing up the program. If you prefer to learn outside, also ok. There is no need to pass the test at the end of swimming lessons. Hence, there is no huge stress on the kids. If they are still keen, they can continue swimming by taking private classes.
Otherwise, you do not need to sign up for swimming (irregardless whether ur child can swim or cannot swim). It is a optional program.

how do we know which is the best class? Last yr when i went to a parent-teacher dialogue day. 1 parent was insisting to the teacher to let her kid go to the best class, I was puzzled as to how she would know her kid is not already in the best class or in the better class.
Don't worry your kid will tell you. There is no best classes in p1 & p2. -
How to allow the kid to go to the best class if the kid did not make it? Are there concessions? The parent is also weird to be asking for such a request!

Precisely! The teacher told her there’s no best class and every student is given equal chance,etc etc. She was (in my opinion) a bit hysterical, begging, asking,pleading. Maybe also becoz last year the class kept changing teacher

I guess you are talking about lower primary? I heard from P3 onwards, the pupils are already streamed according to their abilities

When parents sent their kids for tuition/enrichment classes. It's based on their marks obtain in exams or ???? and what marks should/would the kid obtain, so they need tuition/enrichment? Roughly what age would you send your kid to tuition/enrichment? Individual tuition or group tuition? -
I can't speak for the rest but for myself, as long as my child crosses my hurdle that I think she can manage without tuition, I would not send her to tuition. It all depends on whether I think my child needs help or not. To me, tuition is to help the child with difficulties and not an avenue for the child to score one more point. But the way I see it now, every child seems to go for tuition in one way or another so you'll have to see whether you'll follow the herd mentality

the thing is, how does one determine his/her kid needs tuition? like scoring how many marks? I’m "fighting" hard within myself not to send my kids for tuition. Do you send ur kids for any tuition?

if my kids score band 1 for all subjects I think I’ll be satisfied, no need to be the top few in class or standard. I currently send her to Chinese only because my Chinese sucks, can’t gave her coaching on my own
