Hi insider,Hi mathsparks
wonder you'll visit here while you are there...
My close friend is visiting Seoul this 23 Dec in a group of 14 and need a private guide to pick them from airport to Hyundai ski resort. The chinese speaking guide that we have been using is book for almost whole of december and his car is also too small for the group.
If you can read this msg, grab any private guide info for me if you can...
Have fun!!
we're at the ski resort now. Will check with my guide.
Can anyone advise why we're unable to connect to mobile network here in seoul. We've a N95 Nokia, Sony Ericson W595, HTC diamond all singtel. None of these can connect. It's so frustrating! -

Any idea Korea is using what sort of power plug? Where can I get those travel adaptor in Singapore?
hubby got it at a shop (sells all kinds of stuff, from batteries to tapes to electrical plugs to locks) near the smile dental clinic in marine terrace.
koreans use 2 pin plugs. so for your 3pin equipment you'll need an adaptor. But even then, 2 hotels we stay in, have some sort of roundish electrical point so we can't even plug our adaptor in. Son's hoping mad, coz he cant charge his psp.
at the ski resort here, (sorry not sure the name checked in a while ago only), they have free ps3 and lots of psp stations plus internet access (ladies only in the beauty lounge). -

with group tour, yes, you've to assemble at 7am for breakfast on some days. today we assembled at 8am. Tomorrow at 7:30am. travelling in a group tour is VERY stressful, why on earth do they've to cover so many places??? :frustrated:7am  ... that's so early. I had book korea package trip for this mth end because i am gg with my DH, DS (3yo) & PIL... (MIL handicap) so this is the only choice considering the weather, language & also 1st time to korea.
really hope my grp tour wont assemble us at 7am...
So we always make it a point to extend a few days after the group tour ends to de-stress/shop/spa/massage..a perfect end to a stressful holiday.
The teddy bear farm here in Korea has bears that range from tiny ones to adult sizes. There're wedding bears, ski-bears, romeo-juliet bears..and so many cuddleble ones..even a mermaid bear. This place will surely appeal to those with little girls or even teenage girls and their mummies. -

We covered the mysterious road (which is an interesting optical illusion where the road looks uphill but its actually downhill). Then there the all terrain vehicle which i was rather clumsy with but kids are a natural.Moom,
is Jeju worth visiting? can share more about this place please?
Also went to a small waterfall and dragon-head rock for some stunning scenery. Went for a sauna which was a replacement as the hiflyer balloon ride was cancelled due to the windy weather. I think that's abt it.
I guess it's worth visiting just to see the road, other attractions you can get it in any parts of the world. So, if you hate the hassle of flying, I HATE IT..... -
guess will be like my hokkaido trip last yr… but dont remember we assemble so early. Usually we had breakfast the assemble at the lobby abt 7.30-8.
thanks for PM me… cos gotta get the little one wake up early for milk. -
Does most of the hotel provide free wifi internet access? Don't know should i bring a laptop a not.

Korea uses a CDMA network. This is not compatible with GSM mobile phones we use in S'pore.
Can anyone advise why we're unable to connect to mobile network here in seoul. We've a N95 Nokia, Sony Ericson W595, HTC diamond all singtel. None of these can connect. It's so frustrating!

i actually called singtel b4 leaving and they didnt remind me. And they didnt reply my email which i sent from seoul  :frustrated: -
hi insider,
we solve our plugs frustration by paying a deposit of 1k won at the hotel. Phew!!
Our guide said that there's shortage of guide during xmas season. will pm his email address to you.
I've got a brochure from seoul city tour; they do arrange private guides. email [email protected] http://www.seoulcitytour.net tel: 019-607-7451 (eng speaking)

quite frustrating today; was drizzling so we skipped the ice-skating, then tried to book jump, which needed 1 day advance, and was also full for tomorrow. thenafter much walking and difficulty in getting to the ice-bar, we found it has been closed for a while. And to think that we had picked up the icebar brochure from the korea tourism office in church street. I'm so
Anyway, just to remind anyone else coming to seoul and looking for icebar, forget it!
So insider, I'm looking foward to the dragon hill spa tomorrow, plus ice skating. Wish me luck with looking for the place and the weather.

ok. will take a pic shortly. upload when i'm back, k? actually, hubby is nagging at me for not leaving the forum even when i'm away.
mathsparks, maybe you should go to the wall and shoot a pix of that strange round hole powerpoint/plug to share with all (difficult to imagine actually about a 'sunken' rounded power point when what we have been using is a flat power point).
