What tuition centre do all of u recommend for students at NUSH?thanks!

No. Dun think there is any tuition centre that caters for syllabus at NUSHS. The teachers are your best tutors.

      :thankyou:

        Hi

        can anyone share…
        1. How long has this programme existed?
        2. Is the NUS high school diploma ‘equivalent’ to any of this - GCE A level/IB Diploma/Grade 12/Local Poly’s Diploma?

My DS will be joining NUSH next year, he got CO via DSA. I need to understand on the 3rd language.

          1. is it has to be decided when PSLE results are out.
          2. is it a paper that students have to pass to get diploma.
          3. can they just join the 3rd language just for getting to know a new language.

          please advise.

The school started in 2005 if I dun remember wrongly. You can always check via it's website. It's equivalent to A level & provides entry to all local uni & most top overseas uni. There is info on which overseas uni in this thread earlier on if you like to check.

              1. On the result slip, it will state if you are eligible for 3rd Lang & you need to indicate your acceptance. There will be a briefing on matriculation day if I dun remember wrongly. There will be clear instructions on how to go about it.
              2. No.
              3. Yes of course but advisable if kid got interest bcos it will be exams & grades given.

Hi, can anyone tell me whether NUSH takes kids who have poor Chinese grades, as in just passing? How is Chinese taught and assessed there? Will it pull down the scores that are used for university entrance?

If u have already a CO for DSA, they can't kick u out. If it is by the S!, I doubt u can get in coz from my observation, weak MT can pull the T-score down quite drastically n NUSH entry COP is VERY VERY HIGH!

Thanks. With a CO, still have to get a reasonable T-score or not- 200 or something higher? Have you seen cases of kids with say 3A* and a C and what kind of T-score could such grades get?

                      Donch worry too much!
Not sure how is your kid's school Chinese papers but I've seen the typical C or B- type eventually get an A for PSLE. This has got to do with how they adjust the bell-curve, I guess.

In SG, every SG kids gotta take the same O and AO (?) MT...cannot siam...no matter which school u go to still does not make any diff in this aspect.

Got in through dsa. The T-score is still respectable 23X range. So I would expect that if you are really really strong in Maths and Science, mother tongue would not sink you.
