I pity Sue, while both did something suspiciously wrong, she got all the blames from public while some still believe Gay is innocent and he is always accompanied by his wife in the court's hearings. I believe Gay might have hurt both women in the process, but there is no empathy and only blames.

      I pity her too.

Yes, she has strayed. She had been involved with another man. But why must she be placed on the spotlight and forced to make public her affairs? Just because the state want to nail that NBG?

I do not condone corruption but I do believe CPIB should look at the case more closely if the \"gratification\" is in the form form of sex.

If they have been intimately involved since 2009, why is it that the 4 counts of oral sex are termed as gratification while their other \"sexcapades\" are not? It doesn't make sense to me at all.

      Yeah, strange

Did they also find out about the 2 tenders awarded. Did NBG influenced it in any way? At his level, he will probably sign off the tender based on the recommendation from the procurement team. So far, I have never dealt with any Directors of Home Team department in my various IT tenders with them. They have all the project managers to handle it. If you ask me, those who can influence the tender, are the project managers, not the Directors.
What about the influence of the director on the project manager ? Both explicitly and indirectly. Difficult to prove or disprove.

If Gay's wife were the one working for a company and she was involved in a tender process for which he was the approving authority, then he should declare it, I think. There is a conflict of interest. Why should it be any different even if it is an EMA?

Having an EMA is not a crime. But when a man with his influence is involved with one who could benefit from his official capacity, it his responsibility to have it stated , it seems to me.
If she told the truth in court, she had to be lying to the CPIB on multiple occasions. Making false statements to the bureau is a crime under the Penal Code and offenders can be jailed for up to a year and/or fined up to $5,000.

If, on the other hand, she told the truth to the CPIB and lied in court, she could be accused of perjury, an offence which carries up to seven years in jail and a fine.
Maybe she not stupid after all... Take the lesser penalty?

If the wife is involved in the process, yes he should and have no issue declare it to resolve the conflict of interest. However, in this case, it is an EMA whereby most would want to keep it as secret as possible I believe.

I fully agree with you that if he knows that CS is involved in the tenders, he should declare it. However, failure to do so, can still be dealt with under internal disciplinary actions.

So the crux who be whether he had influenced the tender process. You mentioned about him influencing the project managers. That's a possibility. My question then is, did CPIB call up the project managers?

That is the purpose for the wife to challenge in court. To embarrase both persons who involved in adultery.

wife has money, make use of lawyer to embarass C.

Imagine wife has no money, suffer in silence.

I think trying to say "the deeper the love, more hate when scorned". "Should just remain faithful then this would not happen"

But actually 爱之深责之切 refers to parents being strict to child because of love. more love, so more strict.
