frankly, i hv both for my ds1 and dd2.. i feel that they can enjoy the best of both worlds in this way... not too sure if it applies to everyone but if u can afford, its better to go for both...

That's why you are called \"verykiasumummy\".... 😉 :siam:

Both types of tuition for same subject or both combination?

both types for maths, sci and eng... so 3 subjects... only chi is not required...

i treat the group tuition as a supplementary to the sch lessons... u know nowadays syllabus in sch is just touch and go... so i choose to go for group tuition where the tutor teaches everything again in detail..

as for home tutor, tats for going thru challenging ones, also to reinforce weaker areas...

If every subject go for private + group doubt the poor child will have any enjoyment in his/her childhood. I actually hesitant to send for tuition but looks like not possible cos the school teacher did not teach enough but expect the kids to know everything. Advise please I am still struggling with private or group. The problem with Enrichment ctr their teacher come and go how can the kids benefit right ? Even private also cannot ensure the good teacher stay cos of family commitment and some after a while no morale liao.

ive honestly spoken to my dc before and they hv never complaint about having no childhood or unhappy childhood... cos i play hard with them too, not only study hard... there should be a balance strike somewhere..

every kid is different.. as parents, we know what they like best...

Thanks very kiasumummy, I will consider my DD for both tuition when she is in P5. I also feel school only touch & go they go through little but expect the kids to answer wonders. Very worried for our young kids no childhood now. Sigh !

I feel that sometimes school has no time to finish teaching everything. Then no choice, kids got to take their exams already. Anyway, I try to arrange for my kids to have tuition on weekdays then weekend will bring them out.

Wow. Then if for every subject, it will cost a lot!

You are right. Sometimes my students mention that the school could not cover the topics in time and had to rush through them. In the end they have to rely on tutors to enlighten them. I have a student who always looks relieved after every tuition session and walks away with a smile 🙂

I would prefer one-to-one home tuition for my child or group tuition with max 5 students at a neutral location, definitely not the tutor’s home.
