      HAPPYH:
      I came across this question

Caterpillar was kept in a air-tight glass bottle. The question is: Would the caterpillar grow into pupa? Explain your answer.

My DD's answer is No. Caterpillar needs air, food and water to grow into pupa.

Is this answer correct? I thought the answer should be there is no air, food and water in the glass bottle.

      Kindly share your views.

      Thank you in advance.
I would answer it this way though...

No, the caterpillar will not grow into a pupa. There is insufficient air in the air-tight glass bottle and hence the caterpillar will die before it can grow into a pupa.

Which of the following insects go through the process of moulting?

          A) Butterfly
          B) Cockcroach
          C) Grasshopper
          D) Mosquito

          1) A and B only
          2) A and D only
          3) B and C only
          4) A, B an C

DD chose 3 but was marked wrong. Answer given was 4

Do butterflies moult? Caterpillars moult but butterflies don’t and if want to consider butterflies on account of them being caterpillars before, in that case, mosquitoes moult as well.

Mummy Funz, my P4 DD1's answer - (A) Butterfly, (B) Cockroach & (D) Mosquito moult. Butterfly and mosquito moult several times during the larva stage and the nymph of a cockroach moults.

hi, all the options are wrong. all the mentioned animals moult in their young. so answer should be all of the above. the caterpillar moults several times before becoming a pupa, for cockcroach and grasshoppers, their nymphs have to moult in order to grow bigger. for mosquitoes, they moult about 4 times in the larva stage before becoming a pupa.

              hope it helps.

Thanks for the replies. I think best thing I can do now is to clarify with DD’s teacher.

one of the uses of a magnet is to store information, so i would think that EZ-link card contain magnet.
