my gal alwaz forget shes doing times n halfway she will add the numbers. eg 48x3, she wil do 8x3, but later 4+3 instead of 43. how to prevent tis?
for eg 2317, when doing second row multiplicatn she forget the numbers written as carry forward numbers belong to first row multiplicatn so she can add the same no twice -

I used to teach my boys but find it impossible. I got angry quite easily with them, maybe because my expectations of them are very high so I expect them to understand fast but realized thats not the case. In the end, have to send to tuition centre, but glad that I did that, their understanding of things are much better now and they improved alot.

The focus is on heuristics thinking skills, very different from my time.

i find it tough as they are now doing the model method. I find that they fare better now when i put them in tuition centre. They find the tutor’s explanations clearer than sch teacher. They used to be lazy in drawing models…now much better.

You may try buying "Fan Math’ is quite good bec they show you step by step how to try the model. Buy the one with process skills.
My P3 gal is very weak in model drawing. After I bought for her, she managed to get all the answers right same as my P4 gal.
Both gals no tuition. We just used the book to go through with them. -
I find myself not having the patience…guess most parents face the same issue. I outsource them. Lol

Good move! I'm glad i did that too. It's important to choose the right centres to send to else it would be a waste of resources.
After hunting around, finally settled them in a good centre. The teachers are passionate and knowledgeable. Most important, they motivates my kids so well, that they look forward for tuition everyday.
