hi hi Yup SA2 revision is work in progress. Can I check for Eng/Chi compo is 23-26/40 a decent score?

1st u must ask ur self, are u ks n kc? If the ans is flat 'no', the score is just a score, right... Read throu ur dc compo, if they are fluent then just let it be. If yes or quite la, then if u looked at the psle tread, u will know that some kids can score full marks for their compo so the marks as shown above would be ave or even below ave if majority of his/her peers scoring high 20 to mid 30 range ....

The key to good writing is to read more n write as many as well. Good luck to the coming SA2 ... My dd will have her compo writing tmr.... As for Chinese, the school is doing the psle style, paper1 n 2 on the same day.

        😄

mummy2001 and Suz855 thanks for the replies n good luck to your DD exams... yes I did benchmark against the rest of the class BUT range is baffling, some score 16 and some score 33 and hers is one of the school's better class. Then when I read the compos written by other P6 kids and compare, DD compos are below standard. So, I was wondering what others typically score so I can benchmark better and decide if I should push for more drastic improvements :frustrated: only 4 subjects but so many areas to tackle...

DS exam is rather early this year and SA2 is in 2 weeks’ time. Want to check with parents here how much focus do you give for chinese textbook 5A (standard chinese) since everything will be tested. And how do you revise for Chinese as a whole.

DS Eng teacher did make a remark to the class that a score 30 and above is deem 'safe'. Those who scored below have to stay back for enrichment. Not sure if it is a fair and accurate gauge.

I am always not happy with my ds compo, eventhough he scores 28-30, something is always missing, currently worked with him to add some zing to his compo and hope it will work.

We used the past year top school papers. I would group all the 'yu wen ying yong' section together & let dd practise.... most school will test the few same words or phrase la ... accuracy very high ... as dd is taking HCL, we would do spelling using the P5A/5B shou che .....

                  Have fun 😄

                    Dear psle kids’ mums

Can anyone of you kindly recommend a good sci tuition centre or home tutor who is proficient in psle, can get A* or high A kind? My girl is in P5 now. I heard this year’s psle is very tricky and more challenging compared to previous years. Route learning, memorising, drill & practice & doing tons of exam papers may not help. Understanding & integrating different concepts is a must now to do well. So seems that sci tuition centre has a better edge compared to home tuition. I’m considering one of the following>

Mr chong from starscape at balmoral plaza
                    Mrs sim from perceptum
                    Jason from edventure
Mr chai/Mrs chai from newton apple or sci heuristic

If you have sent your kids to attend any of the above, kindly share your experience with me. You may also wish to pm me. My girl is not strong in Maths, so I hope she can do well for Sci.

                    Thank you so much.

Thanks! Okie okie....looks like I have to channel energy to commonly tested words. If I want to test DS on all the chinese spelling from 5A..I will be the first one who faint. He can only remember 5B! :yikes:

That’s my strategy too! I will get my DD to do the “ 同步练习” CL assessment book which follows closely the school textbook for reinforcement plus test-paper…
