DS exam is rather early this year and SA2 is in 2 weeks' time. Want to check with parents here how much focus do you give for chinese textbook 5A (standard chinese) since everything will be tested. And how do you revise for Chinese as a whole.

We used the past year top school papers. I would group all the 'yu wen ying yong' section together & let dd practise.... most school will test the few same words or phrase la ... accuracy very high ... as dd is taking HCL, we would do spelling using the P5A/5B shou che .....

      Have fun 😄

        Dear psle kids’ mums

Can anyone of you kindly recommend a good sci tuition centre or home tutor who is proficient in psle, can get A* or high A kind? My girl is in P5 now. I heard this year’s psle is very tricky and more challenging compared to previous years. Route learning, memorising, drill & practice & doing tons of exam papers may not help. Understanding & integrating different concepts is a must now to do well. So seems that sci tuition centre has a better edge compared to home tuition. I’m considering one of the following>

Mr chong from starscape at balmoral plaza
        Mrs sim from perceptum
        Jason from edventure
Mr chai/Mrs chai from newton apple or sci heuristic

If you have sent your kids to attend any of the above, kindly share your experience with me. You may also wish to pm me. My girl is not strong in Maths, so I hope she can do well for Sci.

        Thank you so much.

Thanks! Okie okie....looks like I have to channel energy to commonly tested words. If I want to test DS on all the chinese spelling from 5A..I will be the first one who faint. He can only remember 5B! :yikes:

That’s my strategy too! I will get my DD to do the “ 同步练习” CL assessment book which follows closely the school textbook for reinforcement plus test-paper…

My daughter attended Perceptum Maths (P5 and P6) and Science (P6 only). Both Mr Kevin Lee and Mrs Sim are very experienced and dedicated teachers. They take a personal interest in each student, provides extra resources and guidance. Perceptum focuses on material that are above average in difficulty. They also set a fair amount of home work especially in P6 (on average the child needs to spend 2-3 hours per subject per week on homework). The child will only really benefit if he or she takes the time to complete the home work. Actually if your girl is not strong in Maths, she will benefit also greatly from Mr Lee's lessons. My daughter found Mr Lee's problem solving methods very helpful. Good luck!

Thanks. Does Mrs sim conduct experiment, provides notes n worksheets for classes. Do they do a lot of exam papers. Is she Gd in training p6 kids in process skills & answering techniques?

                Appreciate yr feedback.

yes, she conducts experiments, provides notes and (lots of ) worksheets. The P6 revision exercises are apparently taken from difficult questions from past prelims and PSLE exam papers. I can't answer your question on the process skills and techniques yet. Guess i will know when the PSLE results are out ! For Science, the scope of what may come out for section B is very large as the questions are application in nature. You seldom see similar or repeat questions.

                      Hello,

May I ask if the 2012 top school exam papers are available either online or for sale, please?
                      Thank you.

Hi, my boy will be sitting for 2013 PSLE.

He is unable to pass the OE EL compreh well.
He is able to find the answers in the passage, but what he wrote as the answer always gets rejected as the meaning/phrasing seems a bit off from the original passage.

He told me that lifting from passage is not allowed.

What can we do to help?

                        Please advise.
