Puzz...zzle:
I agreed..the teachers I encountered in the school have been very kind, warm and supportive. CHIJ TP has a very loving environment including the security guard uncle/aunty, school bus drivers...Dun think I have yet to meet a teacher whom I will frown upon...Missy Mommy:
What would you do if your child has an unethical teacher who has been doing and saying many things that mentally and emotionally affecting your child?
My girl was from IJ TPY, she liked all the teachers , even teachers from other classes. I knew IJ teachers are very patience, kind and caring. I used to volunteer helping up in many occasions, had met and seen the teachers surrounded by the happy kids :grphug: . They might be stern sometimes but doubt anyone will say nasty things.
What did the teacher say??? -
This one I must say, is amazing...even the security & operations manager will stand in the middle of the busy main road to allow school buses to leave premises to send the girls home everyday. They do so at their own risk. This is dedication. :salute:

I agreed that the security guards and all other teachers we encountered so far are nice. But not this one after knowing what she said to my girl… She said these…
1. "Your friend betrayed you. Serve you right!"
2. (My girl apologised 3x) "I don’t want your sorry. I don’t care about your sorry. I want a written apology and your parents responsible for it"
3. (To the class) "I just want to avoid her."
4. "Your God will not like what you’ve done."
5. (My girl forgot to bring the reply slip, she said to the class) "Because she’s spending too much time on the net."
6. (My girl forgot to bring her spec and told teacher that she can’t see, she asked my girl to sit right behind)
7. (My girl can’t hear clearly where the teacher told her to sit and asked again) "Where else, on my head"
8. (Class went through test paper and my girl deserved another mark, went up to her) "You’re not listening" (Teacher asked another girl what marks would she get if written that answer, and the girl said another additional mark but teacher said) "Too bad, I’m not going to give you"
My girl has always love school and teachers there. But this incident make her can’t concentrate during this form teacher’s lesson and didn’t dare to ask anything because this teacher has stared and glared at her. She has fear now.
This teacher has taken matter too personal instead of taking this opportunity educating the students. If there is a need to punish, then the other girls involved should also be punished, especially the one who started it.
What should I do? -
Hi Missy Mommy, I suppose your gal is in the upper primary . Not sure it works not, asked other gals in the class. Do they encounter the same , check with the parents and if all having the same problem … Should write in to the Principal . If still can’t help, feedback to MOE

You got all these informations from your DD only?? will you have a chance to ask / confirm with any of the classmates ?
-
Hi Essential, we think the same way !! post the same idea at same time!!
-
Hi Puzzle, great minds think alike… We must " get to know" this teacher . If true we need to get rid of her otherwise it is hurtful to the little gals. My gal is in this school too.
-
Perhaps can try calling the teacher . Communicate to her and you will be able to find some clue…

Actually my girl didn’t come back to tell the incident till the teacher called me using her personal hp. Without knowing the exact story, I apologised to the teacher and understand her thoughts. Till that night when I got to talk to my girl, then I knew that though she may have wrong but being a teacher reacting in such a manner, it’s not acceptable. When I ‘what’s app’ the teacher to her personal hp, initially she was ok and replied me because she said that I am a supportive parent. But after I told her that I am unaware of the whole incident and asked her to be more forgiving since my girl has apologised 3x, and it’s not fair to just punished her alone, the teacher asked me not to send further messages to her hp but to call or email the school.
One of the girls wrote in FB closed chat group of afew members "If you like ______, please comment" My girl was too direct and wrote the she hated the teacher and doesn’t like her. In the past she would tell me this teacher is ok but fierce. In fact, if my girl really hated her from the beginning, she wouldn’t have tell her all secrets and happening in the family and bought her a Teacher’s Day gift. However, after writing the comments, her friends told her that it’s not right to comment negatively about the teacher. My girl then immediately apologised in the post and remove that post. However, her BFF betrayed her, took a pic of that post and showed it to the teacher (without the apologising portion). Teacher was then very unhappy about it and took it very personal from there. There was also another girl who wrote the she doesn’t like this teacher, however, she was betrayed by that friend.
I apologised to the teacher telling her that maybe I’ve always encourage my girl to voice her opinion as she can be rather reserve and keep matters to herself, just like this incident. Maybe because of me, my girl thinks that it’s ok to tell her good friends how she felt, didn’t realised that she would be betrayed. I agreed with the teacher that she shouldn’t say things to hurt others. But she didn’t mean to hurt the teacher directly but replying on a post. If the teacher is trying to educate the girls what is right and wrong, then she should educate and not punish so harshly. Why is it just towards my girl when there are also other posts that afew girls stated that they dislike her? She should have investigate the matter and handle it in a tactful manner. On the other hand, is she agreeing that betrayal is alright since she didn’t punish or educate on this matter of betrayal?
I’ve met and spoken to the principal once and agreed to her that she’ll talk to the teacher after exams. However, after my meetup with the principal, the teacher has created some issues with my girl, just like refusing to give the marks for the test paper. The problem here is that the teacher is taking this very personal and ‘attacking’ just my girl. If I’m going to do something now, she may vent her anger on the class girls since she’s the form teacher. I think it’s not fair to the girls. To me, no matter who started first or what they said, they are children afterall. They need to be educated and constantly reminded. They may not even realised that what they’ve said or done are not acceptable. One of my girl’s good friend even called her "useless" and "jump off a building", so am I supposed to be angry about these comments? OF course not. -
Oh dear, that is very bad. I will surely cry if my gal was unfairly treated in that manner. At this point of time, I think u shd help to pacify and monitor yr gal’s emotional stress, let her know that you will help her to deal with the issues after the exam…she needs to focus on her exam now. I will stop approaching this form mistress directly, if I need to, I make sure I have an indep party (be it another teacher or principal) with me to avoid further misunderstanding.
I know some gals in the school can be "bitchy"…my gal said one of her classmates said she dun like her cos she looks ugly. She was quite sad as she claimed she did not do anything to this gal. I told her to ignore her…as there are other 30 gals who may find her pleasant looking and longing for her friendship. And I said maybe the gal who made the nasty comment was having a bad day…just ignore her and stop talking to her for the time-being. I think as gals approach pre-teens, we need to pay attention to their emo feeling
