      Blessed Homemaker:
I just tried airfrying mooncakes (piglets) last night. I need to bake in the oven for 20-25 mins but with the airfryer, it's just 6-7 mins in total. Good for those who want to bake a few pieces.

wow Blessed Homemaker, Philips should appoint you as their spokesmen for its airfryer! You are so good in making this airfryer versatile! Do you mind sharing the recipes? TIA 🙂

How do you clean the air fryer after using and is oily on the net and base?

          hi folks,

i just got the airfryer and was wondering abt 2 areas:

          - there is this disclaimer in the user manual "This Philips appliance complies with all standards regarding electromagnetic fields. If handled properly and according to the instructions in this user manual, the appliance is safe to use based on scientific evidence available today."

gosh, what a lengthy disclaimer. Is the food cooked using electromagnetic fields any less unsafe than traditional cooking methods?

          - the detatchable basket and pan can be removed for washing. what about the top grill which is part of the housing? any one knows if it may be removed for cleaning? surely oil and meat juices will splatter onto the top grill.

          tks guys and gals.

I was a skeptic & have been thinking abt whether to buy this till now. I love gadgets but somehow the comments I've read didn't move me to buy it, mainly because I am happy with my toaster & conventional oven & the fact that some have said it tasted more like bbq than fried. I love fried foods

Finally, I bought it on impulse. I tried it yesterday:

              1) chicken wings (cut into 2 parts) - I followed the recipe which calls for heating @ 160 degrees for 8 min then @ 200 degrees for 4 mins
The wings didn't turn out as crispy & evenly golden brown as I liked.

              2) frozen fries - this turns out excellent! Exciting!

              3) boneless chicken leg - this turns out even better than using my toaster or conventional ovens! the skin is totally golden brown crisp & the meat remains tender & juicy! very impressed liao! But I tweaked the cooking guide cos my chicken wings didn't turn out great when I followed the cooking guide. I used 200 degree for 12 min & it's perfect.

              4) leftover mcwing & fried kidney kuay - reheated this two & they turn out as fresh as just cooked. Unlike when they are reheated in toaster oven which sometimes turns out still sogged in oil.

I have no regrets getting this gadget. I liked the fact that it's no hassle to 'refresh' foods or purge out the oil in fried foods.

I have a qn though - the cleaning instructions didn't mention abt the hot coil above the pan. I can hear oil splattering in the pan during cooking. How do you clean that ?

I put foil on the netting…this way the oil won’t drip to the base. Then no need to wash it so often.

Used a turbo grill but it took up a lot of space…same concept as air fryer.
My 12 year old can make fries in it.
