Hi,
I’m in P6 this year (as in 2020), but my teacher never said that cannot use correction tape or gel pens. I’ve been using Muji pens the whole time. What’s a good brand of ballpoint pens? Thanks in advance.

RE: Elias Park Primary
My Pri 1 child enrolled in Jan 17. To-date, I can objectively say the form teacher and Chinese teacher are both very communicative in that they provide parents with weekly updates on what has been taught, what homework needs to be completed by the child and handed up the following day, reminders on the upcoming tests and excursions etc.
Regarding the comment that the school does not focus on academic achievement, it is too early (for me) to tell as my child has only been with the school for 4 months. Perhaps parents of the older children in EPPS can comment. -

RE: Recommendation for Maths Teaching Reference or Guide
My gal is in P1, but I have read parents who highly recommend OnSponge and Andrew Er. Check them out at Popular. Havent tried either myself though.

RE: Nap for Primary 1
hihi, my older girl in P1 refuses to nap, ever since she was in K1/K2. I used to strictly enforce naptime but she would just lie there and talk to didi. Because she doesn’t sleep, didi also couldn’t fall asleep. So I bring forward their Sunday bedtime to 8pm. By 830pm, both are usually asleep.

RE: School bus fare
thanks 12mum. yes, I wait with her in the AMs, but I don’t board the bus. I just wave her goodbye. So I thought is would be a bit strange to go up the steps just to pass him the AP. Maybe I think too much. Just do it!

RE: School bus fare
I’m privileged to have a local Chinese uncle for my estate. There is no bus auntie, however.
The no-bus-aunty part used to worry us and we bought our gal a non-smart Nokia phone for use in the bus. She calls us mid-way and before reaching school just to chitchat and let us know where she is.
Now that CNY is approaching, I’d like to give him a small token of appreciation in red packet. I’m wondering how to pass it to him since I don’t board the bus?
Hehe, I’m bad with formalities. Appreciate your advice. -
RE: wat skincare products r u using?
dd and myself have eczema. we use Physiogel moisturisers, especially the AI one. for whole body cleanser, we use QV gentle wash
when gg to work, its the AI moisturiser, and Avene sunblock 10 min later, and pat on loose powder.
no masks, no fancy branded makeups and skincare for me. just QV, Physiogel and Avene.
its simple, basic skincare which has worked, and prevented flareups. -
RE: Paya Lebar Methodist Girls
hi all, would anyone have recommendations for student care near PLMGPS? we are fulltime working parents, and other than hiring a domestic helper, student care is our only option.
there isnt any student care within the school i believe. thus how do the P1s get to student care? its probably not safe for them to walk there themselves, no matter how near it is.
thanks mums and dads! -
RE: All About Air Fryer
hi folks,
i just got the airfryer and was wondering abt 2 areas:
- there is this disclaimer in the user manual “This Philips appliance complies with all standards regarding electromagnetic fields. If handled properly and according to the instructions in this user manual, the appliance is safe to use based on scientific evidence available today.”
gosh, what a lengthy disclaimer. Is the food cooked using electromagnetic fields any less unsafe than traditional cooking methods?
- the detatchable basket and pan can be removed for washing. what about the top grill which is part of the housing? any one knows if it may be removed for cleaning? surely oil and meat juices will splatter onto the top grill.
tks guys and gals.
