My son told me PT check their homework. Whoever finished their home work needs to show the teacher their work for checking.

Fairy Penguin: well done on getting PT to expediate the painting job!

        Hi queen & fairy,

This evening I purposely make a trip down to Pro Teach as to view the enviorment and as well as how is the homework supversion conducted by the teachers. I think the best timing to reach there is in the weekday in the noon,at least we can view how is the teacher conducted the tution & coaching for the kids on homework.

I have actually spoken to Cindy, the person incharge tis afternoon. But she knock off at 6pm,so Mdm Chang show me around of the classes, toilet, bath room & kitchen.

Infact once I step in, the floor really make me uneasy. I reach there almost 6.45pm. Some kids are sitting on the floor watching TV while waiting for their parents for fetching. The big TV is quite near to kids when watching.

The homework supervison is good as they make sure the kids finish their homework, then they will pass it to the teacher in a folder, teacher will check if correct & pass it to them. This is what Mdm Chang told me. But perhaps wait for Queen to verify on this matter wif her son.

As compare Pro teach and my student care, Pro T is much bigger then mine,as there is more class room. For Pri 1 kids are in 1class, Pri 2 kids are in another class. It should be this kind of arrangement. As mine is small, there is why lower pri & upper pri has to be together.

I have taken a application form from then first. Just in case I want to withdraw my daughter.

          Hi qq_guy,

Glad that PT teachers really check the kids' homework. I've already paid the registration fee & signed up my girl with PT last Sat. Cindy told me better to secure the place 1st cos this year the applications are coming in earlier than usual. Though PT's physical environment is not their strength, hopefully the centre can make up for it through caring & responsible teacher with a beneficial tuition programme. Ultimately parents still need to play our part to guide & coach our kids, isn't it? Whatever that PT doesn't address/lack, I'll find other avenues to plug the gap. This is how I convince myself so that I can decide & move on happily ๐Ÿ™‚

          Hi Queen,

My girl will be centre-mate with your boy starting next year. She may join PT earlier say in mid Dec to adjust to the new environment. May see you next time though I won't be able to identify you. Really nice of you to offer me all the useful pointers previously. Thanks ๐Ÿ™‚

            Hi Parents,

any recommendation for tuition class near PeiYing? my neighbour was commenting about this tuition class at the RC nearest to PeiYing at blk 805 and she was raving great reviews about the class. According to her, most of her classmate in the tuition class improved by alot within afew months and one of them top the class despite being only average before joining.

I am skeptical about the tuition since it is an RC, where the tuition program might not be run professionally. but since its recommendation from my neighbour, I might give it a try. Anyone sends the child to the tution centre? any comments about the teachers etc?

              Hi Queen,

Any idea about this tuition centre shared by sandybeach? I know there's an RC at the block but mostly I only heard karaoke singing when I walk past on Sat evenings. Of course I must qualify that I'm not very observant ๐Ÿ˜“

              Hi sandybeach,

Your neighbour's rave reviews especially the big improvements by some after joining the tuition has stirred my curiosity. Let's wait for sharing by other parents to ascertain this. ๐Ÿ˜‰

i have been MIA from this page for too long and dint realised it was more active compare to previously. Kudo to the active mummies here and glad i manage to get more info.

well, just received letter from PY today. And thereโ€™s a book list to buy but how i know which books to buy. Can someone advise?

                Queen,
can i check w u, does PY practise class segregation by academic? i heard some school does this after 1st term.

for tuition class, currently my girl hv lesson in ICR @ ChongPang and Han Language ctr @ khatib ctr.

for the tuition in Blk804 by RC, i remember i saw some negative feedback from forum mummies, but that was about a year ago. They mentioned the class have too many students which resulted the teacher cannot focus on all students. Maybe i shld go and enquiry about it.

                  Hi Felicia09,

Nice to have u on board. ๐Ÿ•บ

Is yr child entering P1 too? I've yet to open letter-box so unsure if there's anything from PY. However, the school is hosting an orientation on 16 Nov so perhaps u could check with them on the buying of textbooks by then.

As for the tuition at Blk 804, do share with us more if u've more info/findings. :boogie:

Hi Fairy (prefer to call this than Penguin. hehe..)
yup, my girl will be in One Perseverance next year. yes, go and check ur letter box and see if ur kid(princesss or prince?) is under which class?
About the booklist, i found out they will only start selling (either thru bookstore or online) only after the P1 orientation, so i suppose school might inform the parents on which books to buy.

ok, will update here after i pay a visit to blk804.

btw, The Popular will have sale at expo on the week of PY P1 orientation. So mummies, can go n grab some books for ur prince/princess to do; to warm them up before P1. hehe....hope the kids wont hate me for this info.
