Did it on my own. Book cruise with Royal caribbean, airtickets with SQ, Barcelona hotel, and various city tours and shore excursions and transfers from the internet and off we went. i was the agent and tour leader for the extended family! :rotflmao: :imcool: I get better value and quality hotels this way then through the travel agent.

I also did not take the shore excursions with the cruise company. i arranged my own private tour and guide for our shore excursions (cheaper and we are on our own, instead of with big group). We stayed overnight at Cairo before rejoining the ship and it was great! Dec is a good time to go Egypt because it was cool. :love:

Europe passed cos planning to comb czech/Prague , Austria and other part of germany next year

btw my DS only coming 2 ...how old are your kids when you guys bring them to those places ?? will they enjoy themselve...though i know i would be

My DD started long distance travel with us since she was 3 (it was to Barcelona where we took a Mediterranean and Egypt cruise.) But since you have already brought your DS to Germany this year, then should be no prob right?

yah DS tried long haul flight already
my issue is i want to go somewhere ...long or short i am ok but i just dunno where to chooose ... leave and budget not much of an issue unless it is 10K per pax then got to pass :lol:

Money and leave no issue then go far far lah. Go US how? Cheap USD. New England and NY is nice too since you don't want Europe. Weather also cold which you like. Otherwise for somewhere nearer, then go to a luxurious beach resort, say in Maldives. Have many international hotel chain there which will suit your DH too.

Now that my Orlando trip is due in less than 6 weeks, I start thinking where I want to go next year. :evil: :rotflmao: Next year DD 7, so last year with child care leave. I think after that less leave will have withdrawal symptoms! :nailbite:

My husband just came back from Maldives with his team. There were 22 of them. He says the staff who are mostly Sri Lankan are pretty discriminating. They went for meals in their hotel restaurant everyday. On the second day, my husband took a random seat at a table. The waiter came over and asked "where he seats yesterday?"

My husband :"I can’t remember"
Waiter : " why u can’t remember?"
My husband getting hot :" why the @#€% should I remember?"
The whole team was spilt up and not allow to sit together. When the Ang mo came in, the waiter greeted them but when the Chinese came in, they just keep quiet.

In their eyes, Ang mo more superior and richer than other race.
I conclude: they never read newspaper!!
