      Hi all,

Appreciate some advice. I have a filipino candidate(new in Philippines) in mind & intend to direct hire. There are a few questions which I believe you guys can help me . Firstly, can I do it on my own(DIYw/o agency)? Also what is this POEA thingy? Is it that without their approval, my new helper will not be allowed to come to Singapore even with the In-Principle Approval from MOM???

      thanks & best regards

I had an Indon maid who always walloped all the yummy food that my mil cooked ๐Ÿ˜ž

My 2nd Indo maid walked into mum's kitchen...lifted the covers to see what was inside the pot, used her fingers to try the food. She was THAT rude.

Brother needs to get a maid...he said no Filipino.
Mainly to do housework and simple cooking. Any lobang. Actually he wanted to try Myanmar.

Janet, do u know now you need to pay close $5000 for a maid? Pay all in one shot. Last time only pay $2000 to $3000. Getting tougher.

                  Yaโ€ฆ$450x8 months=$3600

Then pay agency fees $1200 and insurance $300.
Total $5000. All pay one shot. Eventhough the 8 months is salary for maid, still to pay all in 1 shot is ridiculous. And no guarantee a fantastic maid!! Tough life for employer.

Strangely I donโ€™t see many employer getting mad over these costs. I told my agent they should go look for supply in other country instead of being hold ransom by indonesia or the Philip. The agent say they are not looking at the moment.

So say, the maid cannot make it and employer decided to send her back to agent after working with employer for 3 months, then what happen? Can get back the remaining 5 month salar?

Not sure because under this new scheme, maids just arrived in October. Not many employers contribute their experience yet. But I heard that under this new scheme, maid can ask for transfer anytime as there is no impact on the maid loan.

Anyone who knows or has experience with this new scheme pls share with us.
