i sent my 1st maid (a transfer) directly to the police station after having her for 10 wks when we discovered we lost a lot of things and some money here and there. The things she stole was enough to fill up a big takashimaya paper bag! I just packed her luggage including all that she stole from us. She didnt put up a fight nor cry.

Agency initially asked me to pick another maid but I insisted on making a police report. Long story short, she was jailed 6 weeks and during her jail term, she was hopsitalised 2 nights. The bill cost me $ 1700+. At the end of it, we still had to buy her single way plane tix home!!!

EPIC: I met her previous employer at police station. She told me her MIL in coma died from dehyration 2 wks after my maid was transferred out. Apparently the maid didnt feed the old lady! Imagine this ex-employer just sent the maid back to agency for a new replacement.

You have done all of us a good deed . :thankyou:
My friend told me , we can actually blacklist the maid at mom website . This will prevent them coming back to Singapore .

It was 6 yrs ago now. I will try to dig up the old files of her WP and blacklist her. It wasnt just simple stealing issue here that I sent my maid to police. I found 10 knives hidden in her luggage!

I complained so much about the maid until my mother asked me to go write a book :slapshead:

:stompfeet: Imagine if we had any fierce confrontation with her, she might killed us in the night with 1 of the 10 knives!

Maid stole the knives from her ex-employer! She hid them in the compartment on the side of luggage. I didnt know how to handle maid I didnt even check her things. Thou we should give her some privacy. :stupid:

We were also busy with DD2, she was a preemie, cant drink milk properly without turning grey in the face.

Luckily my 2nd maid is good and we have her for 6 yrs now. So thankful to my 2nd maid. I like to think we have a good working relationship  .

I know what u mean. I also like to give my maid privacy but in so doing employers end up suffering. Like my previous maid, gives her the privacy to pray and I found her praying ridiculous thing like praying I will not be pregnant so that she has a easier job. Because these maids are staying with us we have to be alert. Sometimes we want to be kind and nice to them but we end up getting shit from them. That’s why all these years I just treat them like a worker. I won’t go all out to treat them like family. For employers who are lucky and has good maids working for them for many years, they are lucky. They can treat them like family. For me so far my maids are just so so. Hence I won’t treat them special in any way.

That's scary ! Luckily you found the knives . Think if your maid is jailed here before , I don't think she is able to come back but once again I know indo maid can change identity easily ! :faint:

If I have time soon, I will write about what she did during the 10 weeks with me - she was a terror.

She is from Philippines. When she was in jail, my office colleagues from Philippines got in touch with their embassy and they went to visit her all the crap. Said I shld give her a 2nd chance. Now she cant work in Spore anymore. HELLO EXCUSE ME! SHE GOT KNIVES YOU KNOW!

My 2nd Indo maid - I showed her a picture of my 1st maid in handcuffs at police station. I told her this is what happened when you steal from me. :yikes:

Of course maids are usually full of nonsense. To work for me - only request no handphone no boyfriend. We choose to treat her as family even after our 1st maid experience.

2nd maid knows we are not stingy with her. 6 yrs with me - she had been home 4 times w all expenses paid/full pay. Sometimes we must close 1 eye.

She has Indo maid friends from Katong, Jurong and Pasir Ris etc but we are in Hougang! I just listen to her gossips and smile. They need to relax too. I give her every Sunday off because I also need a break from her.

Hi, just to share. I sent my first maid home without giving her notice after working for 1 yr coz she pinched my 1yr old boy. I sent my 2nd maid home without giving her notice also after working with me for 7 yrs coz she is pregnant as her BF work around my blk. I sent my 3rd maid back to agent coz she threw a knift on the table after my husband reprimanded her for not doing her work well. Now i have another maid working for me almost 2 yrs. Not that great as she is very lazy but a good cook. Always hide in the kitchen and always on the HP. She refuses to tidy the house more than once unless i ask her to do so. Her contract end in Feb and i am thinking of sending her off earlier in Dec since my DD will be in P1 next year and I may put her in after school care.
