Competition for places, not necessarily IP places:

      1. mixed school -> 100% more because it is for both gender, not for boys or girls only
      2. SAP school -> 25% less because it is mainly for the Chinese students
      3. IP school -> 50% of places taken up via DSA
      4. school with affiliated primary school -> places alloted to affiliated primary school students with a lower cut off point

        Agree. :goodpost:
One point tho, IP places are typically via merits, no affiliation component.

            NYGH - total 420, dsa 210, S1 210

If I remember correctly, the total IP places should be 4000 as per what was published in the Straits Times recently.

In the cedar thread, a student mentioned there are 3 IP classes this yr, total 80 places.

Should an IP student wants to switch to another IP school which year should it take place? Yr 3 or yr5, usually ?

                        Hi,

To more clearly understand what’s happening as more schools offer IP, wonder if anyone can shed light on the questions below.

                        1. Is it the case that schools currently offering IP partially (Cedar, SJI, CHS etc.) will eventually convert to become fully IP (Dunman, HCI etc)?

                        2. Or are govt-aided/autonomous schs obliged to retain non-IP places vs. independent schools? Esp. if the schools have affiliated pri schs (affiliated pupils do not get bonus points to enter IP programmes, only for the O Level route).
