        Hmmm…In primary school, the kids have tuition and do a lot of assessment / past year papers. Is it common for secondary students to have tuition? My guess is probably yes for Chinese. What about other subjects? Also do the kids need to do assessment books? Do they have time? Can anyone advise? Thanks.

          Usually for English (added in L1R5, so die die must get A1) and Chinese (if intend to get A1, else dont bother as it’s easy to pass).

          Other subjects will depend on the child and his timing. As for assessment, forget it. No time at all for this. Maybe in Sec3/4, can start working on ten year series.

                hi edanson,

                see here for L1R5: which doesnt concern ip students; only for those taking o levels for entry to jc or L1R4 for poly.

                  L1R5 = Language = 1, otheRs = 5

                  So total 6 subjects = minimum 6 points.

                  But not sure if can include both English & Chinese at the same time ?

                    Would their grades \"suffer\" if they don't have enough practice (doing assessment books) ?

                    Can anyone share their experience ?

                    Thanks.

                      My kids haven't gone to Sec schools yet so not qualified to comment.

                      But my friend told me CCA really took out a lot of their kid's time !

                      They come back very exhausted !

                        Mathsparks, thanks for reply.

                        Does anyone has a good English tuition center or tutor to recommend?
