hi sorry for the late reply.
i bought all the books. but we hardly use the math textbook. and it isn'tmuch of a help anyway because the math teachers make their own notes for us.
as for science, we hardly use the textbook but the textbook provides a lot of information, so does the history textbook. for chinese, we use the text book and for language arts (combined literature and english ) we need the text from the book animal farm. yepp. geography text book is necessary too.
so. i suggest you leave out the math textbook. and lemme check out some really good science guide books and get back to you later. i'm going to popular tomorrow.
and for the year one orientation, it's mostly about team bonding. it's 5 days long and there are no overnight stays. except for the last night where there'll be a night concert to round up the whole orientation.
the orientation is really great. you get really high. ;D HAHA. -

glad that u saw my post and thks for yr reply.
oops.........not using the maths textbk??
think the maths textbk is more ex than the other textbks , if not in use is a waste to buy it. prob i shall hang on not to buy first.
btw, roughly how much u spent for the textbks, exercise bks and files......
it shall give me a indication of how much to bring along on 23 th dec.
DHS is also using animal farm too.......saw my niece in RGS using it (or is she using \"to kill a mocking bird\".....)
my gal read thru twice already.......(as it was also my old liternature bk)
she enjoyed the story so much.
btw, can u recommend any literature model answers or guidebks too.....
(since she loves to read literature, can let her go thru them first)
regarding the yr 1 orientation, isit been held in the east coast park.
i kinda saw a dunmanian's blog and some photos of them.
u mean can't go home after the nite's concert?? i would prefer her to fetch her home...............
wow......u said \"u get really high\"during the orientation!!!
sounded like a count down party nite.......
so needless to say, u enjoyed yrself very much there
btw, are the teachers present, or only the seniors??? -
i think i spent less than 100 when i bought the year 1 books.
i'm not sure of literature guide books because i don't have one but you can find them at the school bookshop. Animal farm is a really good book and there're lotsa elements inside that make a very good literature book. like irony etc. we are using to kill a mocking bird in year 2, just read the book, it's really good. haha. and we are also working on merchant of venice in year 2.
perhaps she can read through the book and find out points on how napolean is a bad leader, how he uses the animals and how he gains control of the farm, like he uses the dogs and instill fear in the animals etc.
that will get her ready. mostly guide books give you the character analysis and i don't find it really necessary but it's always good to have one to refer to.
yep, and one day of the orientation is held at east coast park, only one day. for outdoor games etc, we're not allowed to go near the water though.
(there's a sandcastle building competition at east coast park in year 4. hehe)
and uhm the night concerts lasts till about 8 to 9 and we can go home after that. i must have sounded misleading.
and both teachers and seniors will be present. but the whole orientation is organised by our student counsilors.
if you have any more questions feel free to ask me yea? enjoy your holidays! merry christmas.

Hello, "hugehugesmileyface" I am currently a Primary 6 student and I am being admitted to Dunman High for the up coming year. I would like to know if Dunman High does provide school bus services and if yes, the approx cost. Oh ya, and the quality of school life there.

not many days left to enjoy as the sch holidays are coming to end soon.......no more freedom waking up in noon.......(me and my gal),
hate to hear the \"beep beep beep\" sound in the early morning
as for \"Animal farm\", i introduced it to her last yr.
after i read in this forum that some schools are also using \"Animal farm\" as the literature bk, stirred her interest and she read it again this yr.............
i should have kept all my literature bks and guidebooks
never in my thot that after so.....so.....many years later, the schools are still using the same old but goody books, then i can pass down to the next generation......haha
thks for all yr help in answering, hope won't bother u further with more questions..........
