If you did not previously graduate from the school, are neither a grassroot leader nor related to the church, you fall under P2C.

      Thank you for your reply.
I am none of the above except that my son is in ACS (Barker). Do you think that it will help as both are Methodist school?
If not, how to increase the chance to get a seat. Thank you

I'm planning for my girl to get into MGS in yr 2015. I stay @ Maplewood Condo, pls advise under which phase should I register her & how to increase my chance of getting a seat in MSG ? .

My son is in ACS (Barker). Do you think that it will help as both are Methodist school?

If you did not previously graduate from the school, are neither a grassroot leader nor related to the church, you fall under P2C.

ACS (Barker) All Boys' school nothing to do with MGS (All Girls' school) when come to Primary 1 Registration - even though both are Methodist primary schools.

It is your bonding relationship with MGS school that determine under which particular Phase you can enrol your daughter into. You may read up / find out about your relationship with school(s) & Phases here:-

        http://moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/primary-one-registration/phases/

to increase your chance of entering MGS, you may attempt to apply under Phase 2B.
But 2B applicants need to produce letter(s) from their Methodist church pastor(s).
Otherwise you fall under Phase 2C, ie. \"public\" category.

        July 2012 registration -
balloting took place for MGS, within 1 km
for SCs, in both Phases 2B and 2C.

For this year, balloting was conducted for SC staying more than 2 km from the school.

Did you confirm with the school on the phase that conducted balloting for SCs staying within 1 km? For 2012, balloting was conducted for those staying < 1 km from the school in P2C.

                        hi Clare,

                        Pei Hwa primary -
this year phase 2B - balloting took place for SC > 2km.
for phase 2C - balloting took place for SC < 1km.

                        however for intake 2014 P1 -
not sure will remain the same for phase 2B, because more kids born in 2007 than 2006.
