What have your DC been doing after PSLE?

It has been for 3 weeks since PSLE.
We have been going out almost daily...Universal Studios, shopping, helping me to tidy house, library, going to friends' place, supermarket, or else he plays his Wii at home.

Planning to get hubby to introduce him to algebra soon...he cannot be 'off books' for too long.

Yah life has been pretty unsettled since PSLE. Big one playing small one refusing to study cos he had never really had to study before as he had been playing since P1 when we were all tied up with P5 work.

After reading that Sec school selection booklet on Friday, I’ve been super stressed. Really don’t know where my DS will end up. Hiaz…when will it all end.

Same here...after the whole madness was over...I was simply burnt  ...to the point that I can't face books. Can't coach my younger one for her SA2 either...my daughter refuses to study and even her school counsellor has confirmed she is mentally still young and attention span is very short. It's not that I neglected her, but I did spend nights coaching her as son was 'outsourced'. I have done what I can.

After the 4 days of PSLE marking, I am now thinking how son fared. My dear fifiyeo, this craziness will end near Christmas 😢

janet, your DS is good. Mine didn't even want to go out nor tidy up the stuff but simply watching TV 😞

Any good program that someone can recommend?

Oh Janet, can't imagine you and I are going to be doing this again in 4 years!

DS2 also has short attention span and loves to talk. Luckily the only 2 not so good feedback from teachers. Otherwise he's ok. Does all his school work and homework rather independently but then that is it. He'll give nothing more extra! So this limits any possible potential if there is any. Playing is no.1 important.

DS1 is different. He also has short attention span. Totally NOT independent. Super blurr and always losing things. But he will sit at his desk for hours without complaints. However, that doesn't mean he is really working efficiently. Just doing everything super slow! End up not getting to play as much but still rather be slow than fast.

Actually, this little epoch between PSLE and Secondary Education is wonderful so far. My school has arranged excursions to museums, one-week immersion programmes to places as far as South Korea, and post-PSLE tournaments for us. We have taken a hiatus off learning. There is absolutely no need to worry about PSLE — whether it was "scrumptious" or "sumptuous"; whether it was "28" or "44". THE PAPERS HAVE BEEN MARKED. So, I suggest, as we say in Singaporean vernacular Hokkien, just "kiao kah dua guitar".

                  Hi fifiyeo,

Daughter’s Chinese tutor came today…asked me to revise some sections before her exam on Tue. Told her I will try and explained to her that I am burnt after PSLE. She told me it is normal bcos the marathon had been very intense…I will definitely be up and about by end Dec, after sec school posting and buying of books. Tutor’s daughter is doing her A levels.

I want to ‘taiji’ son’s Sec 1 stuff to hubby…as well as daughter’s Math and Science next year…take a backseat.

I am burnt...but when it comes to retail therapy and FUN, I am all for it :rotflmao: Hubby had taken leave for the last 2 Fridays...just asked him when will he be taking leave again...since he has so many days to clear.

I'm really playing hard...feel like a rubber band releasing energy.

DH says I'm the stronger one academically and more on the ball so the coaching stays with me. Bobian 🤷

I'm got a list of this year must achieve personal goals. So post PSLE is the start of DS SA2 push and household issues and work to target. The race is not yet over. Will see what's done and not done by 31 Dec 2012.

Guess I set a whole list of targets because I'm kinda of prepared that PSLE might not be so good for me and I might be really down when results are out. Anyway, still always hoping for the best.
