Can I just jump in with a couple of questions about computer use? Do the girls bring the computer to school daily? Do they use it a lot for classes and homework? How is the computer support in school? Any comments about which model is preferable (Air/Pro)? We're going to have to get one next year when we get back to Singapore, and we haven't decided which yet. Thanks!

      Air is lighter.

Yes, need to bring on every school day. There's certainly daily usage where my girl is concerned - homework, assignments, group projects and discussions, notifications from certain teachers....

We bought a Pro but on hindsight, Air would be better as the kids dun use discs; lighter too. If the laptop is bought from the school's approved vendor, can just send the laptop to their service centre, within the school, should any problems crop up.

Yes, but is the lack of a large hard drive a big drawback? Also, do you have any responses to my other questions? Thanks![/quote]Last yr, we bought it via sapura. They only had one model each for Air and Pro. They had other options like add on insurance, s/w etc. Comes with 4 years maintenance. I bought an Air for my girl. Space, performance is not an issue. Its much lighter for her to carry everyday to school.

Hi. I am an RGS girl in Year 2 and is preparing for the Math RA Selection test. May I know how and what to study for the Selection test? What topics or types of questions will they usually test??? (e.g. geometry, general algebraic questions?) So, how can I prepare or study for the test???

              Thank you very much! 🙂

My dd says logarithmic functions, problem solving and inequality, whatever they mean. 😄

The rest I cannot help, but best of luck to you. Just remember to enjoy your time at RGS - it should be an unforgettable part of your life's journey.

Can any one advice on what kind of questions are asked in the advanced maths selection test? Are the questions like those asked in maths olympiad?

Hi. I have a friend who appealed to join the math RA Selection test, because she did not apply for it and was not invited. However, she was not notified yet whether she can sit for the test.

I think the questions will be non-routine and may require a good foundation of algebra or formulas to solve.
