Hi,mckenzy:
okay when i read your post last night i still didn't get it... this morning a little better...
thanks!
Hope the model drawing illustrates the solution better.
Very clear. It must have took you sometime to draw the models. MayI know what software you used to draw the models? -

Not any special software, but just using 'Words' and then paste onto 'Paint'. Quite tedious actually. -

Hi,Ali , JIm and Beng shared some stickers in the ratio 3:2:4.
In a game ,jim lost half of his stickers to ali .after the game, ali have 96 more stickers than beng. how many sticker did ali have after the game.
Question may not be correct.
At first,
Ali had 3 units
Jim had 2 units
Beng had 4 units
During the game,
Jim lost half (1/2 x 2 units) = 1 unit to Ali
After,
Ali had 3 units + 1 unit = 4 units
Jim had 2 units - 1 unit = 1 unit
Beng had 4 units (Did not mention any change)
Ali and Beng had same number of stickers. ( 96 more? - error?) -

Obviously, Beng must have lost some to Ali. However, to solve the problem, there has to be a relationship between what Beng lost and the 96 extra stickers the Ali has over Beng....After,
Ali had 3 units + 1 unit = 4 units
Jim had 2 units - 1 unit = 1 unit
Beng had 4 units (Did not mention any change)
Ali and Beng had same number of stickers. ( 96 more? - error?)
People, if you post questions here, please make sure you type properly and have all the information necessary to solve the problem. We can only help with solvable problems. Otherwise, it is like putting a jigsaw puzzle together with missing pieces. -
i have type the whole question in, so the question miss out some information, that’s why i can’t solve it, sorry for the inconvenient cause.

Hi cchho, there's a learning opportunity in everything. In this case, can you let us know where you got the question from (assessment book? school past year exam paper? homework?) so that we can understand a little more? -
my girl attended the school "STAR" program, this is one of the question in her work sheet, the teacher also said skipp this question.

My son's P4 Maths question for homework:
1. A B + B C = B C B. A, B and C represents single digit numbers. Find out them.
Managed to solve this by iteration - 9 1 + 1 0 = 1 0 1
2. A B + A A = B A C. A, B and C represents single digit numbers. Find out them.
Managed to solve this also by iteration - 9 1 + 9 9 = 1 9 0
3. I stumbled in this question, A B C + A C B = C B A
What is the \"mathematical\" or \"modeling\" way of finding A, B and C. (Don't keep A, B and C all as zeros
) -
3. I stumbled in this question, A B C + A C B = C B A
answers = 954
C = 9
B = 5
A = 4
