Limlim say wor.... How can I not agree? ***smile***
Ok, naming it as 'PSLE leave' does leave a bad aftertaste...frightening especially for newly weds and those planning families. Would 'exam leave' be more appropriate? :siam: -

Frankly if PSLE is major enough for one MP to discuss about slaughtering this scared cow, I don’t think impact will be small.

But there is really something called exam leave - intended for those who are doing courses relevant to their line of work. They can take exam leave (for their own exam).Chenonceau:

Then name it as 'exam leave'...worse case if HR needs proof, there is entry proof. Seriously I don't think many fathers holding senior positions will apply for 'psle leave'. -
Why are Singaporeans such hypocrites? Is PSLE important? If it is, so just accept and acknowledge it. For those heroes who think otherwise, you can just laugh at the others who are trembling with fear. What I can’t stand are those who got the money to send kids for 1 to 1 tuition for ALL subjects. Those who got money to expose kids to the best educational resources and overseas trips. After that they go around telling everyone - don’t kam chiong, it is PSLE only. It is not the end of the world if they didn’t do well. There are many other routes to success. Back in their mind, they are ever ready to pack their kids to US, UK or Australia for their Sec studies. Many such rich kids can be found overseas in top Uni. Their entry is easier because they have been studying there since Sec level.
So lets be honest. If one wants to be hero, we give you our due respect. However, for those who have all the resources (that allows them to provide alternative routes for their kids) and going around telling others not to be overly excited, I find them the most disgusting. -

Nah. More likely they have kids who can get into GEP half asleep. We should be careful that we are not expecting our kids to compete with those kids. It is hardly fair, most demoralising and probably damaging in the long run unless our kids also happen to be one of those. The worry is that some parents lose sight of this.
Yeah, yeah. I know it's not politically correct...
