I would like to know the market rate for higher Chinese tuition for sec 2 student. Recently a tutor quote me $50 / hr (min 2 hrs per session) and I think it’s very reasonable but my friends all think its expensive.

sec 2 is around $25/hr ~ $30/hr… (common rate)
but then… if the person paying feels it’s ok… then it’s reasonable lor… if they feel $200/hr is comfortable for them, who is to judge that it is unreasonable… willing buyer willing seller. -

Physics tutor, Mr Phang, http://www.physics.com.sg , charges $90 per hour for his group JC 2 Physics tuition.
Economics tutor, Mr Anthony Fok, http://www.jceconomics.com, charges $50 per hour for his group JC 2 Economics tuition.
Group tuition can go so sky high?!?!?! Government should step in to control and regulate tuition prices... just like doctors in clinics... -

If parents don’t feed the ridiculous pricing, providers would not be asking for ridiculous pricing… -

I think it is expensive. I would think that $35-$40 is the norm. -

It's 1 - 1 and tutor will come to my place. I heard primary rate is already like $40/hr so I thought it's ok. I really have no idea of secondary tuition rate that's why I am asking here.Brownbear:

Sometimes the tutor or agency will evaluate the address of the client…
