I've heard of $180/hr from very good teachers but high grade students. 30mins?...maybe masterclass?billymarsh123:
Just something to keep in mind: Here in MN, it seems like a few violin teachers (at least the ones I've met) charge upfront for a block of 10 lessons or so. It made it easier than having to get paid each session. I think I paid $200 for a block of 10 30-minute lessons a few years ago, but the teacher was pretty inexperienced.
a parent told me she paid $180 per 30mins for her DD's violin lesson...... i was :yikes:
perhaps if the kids are talented, then it warrant a good teacher and the $...
Anyway, I must have lost touch as I last paid $150/hr a year ago. -

I think so. When you say \"clear\" I would suppose you say pass or merit.
One of violinists I know say that if you are talented in violin, you can easily clear grade 5 from beginner within one year. I guess can see why he said that.
I know of a girl who started violin at P3 ie 10yrs old? She cleared her G8 at P6. Did her LCTL at sec 2, now in Chetham, UK. -

I am not too sure as I haven't been to the school orientation yet. -
Hi ladies!!!
My girl have been learning violin for the 3rd years now but i think she is quite scared of her teachers. He is a big guy who can talk pretty loudly at time. I feel that he is not able to communicate well with young children. I am thinking of changing teacher for her after her violin recital this December.
Can you ladies please PM me your children’ violin teacher?? I do not want her interest to die slowly by sticking to this current teacher.
By the way, my girl is 5 this year. I would be good if the teacher is good with children. Thanks SO MUCH!!! -

Hi
My DS is currently 3yr2mths and he says that he wants to learn the violin.
Brought him to magic fiddler at the grandstand for a trial 2 days ago and he really like the instrument. He can connect with the teacher there but our concern is that she is really young at 17yrs old and inexperience in teaching.
Move over, being a new branch at grandstand, the admin of magic fiddler there drives me nuts.
Can anyone advise and recommend a teacher n school that teaches violin for 3yr old, someone who is kid friendly n experienced in teaching young preschoolers. West, central or south preferred
Thanks!
