          No, he did not.

At first we brought him to GP & KK hospital.
Thinking to bring him to specialist but my friend told me go to polyclinic first coz the medical fee will be cheaper if we get the referral letter from polytechnic. Is that true ?

So far we brought him to polychinic twice and doctors only giving him medicines such as reduce stomach wind & clear problem of constipation but without suggest us to go for gastroscopy.

By the way, do you know does polyclinic has equipment of doing gastroscopy ?

If the pain persists after medication from the doctor, suggest you return to the same clinic to get a referral to a specialist which will cost you lesser for referrals.

The gastroscopy has to be done by a specialist so unlikely the polyclinic has it.

Typically gastric pain can be eased by medication but if it cannot, it would be best to get a scope.

Gastroscophy has to be done at hospital, so try to get referral from polyclinic.

                Thanks for all the informations.

By the way, is it advisable to do gastroscopy for a 6yo kid ?
Any harm ? Anyone has ideas ?

Not that I know of except for the LA or GA required

The scope is basically putting a camera at the end of the tube to reach the stomach to see what is going on inside there and if there are ulcers. It will cause discomfort but the technology has improved compared to the past.

                      Hi Needy,

So how is your kid now?

Actually, my daughter who is 7yrs old is complaining of stomach pain since 2 weeks ago. I had brought her to see GP twice but it does not hep her.

Can you advise me on the procedure to do gastroscopy?
                      Any side effects?

                      Thank you.

What does he usually eat ? Is his bowel movement normal ?

Perhaps u can try adjusting his diet (make it lighter, 清淡一点) and see if it helps or not. Perhaps also avoid milk, egg, diary and sugary products. I know lactose intolerance also has symptons like abdominal pain.
