I had a good lesson today. Met an old bird of my organization. She just got her long service award of 35years. Well done, right?

She told me she would be clearing her leave soon and that we would meet next year. :yikes: she going nom pay leave, I asked? Nah... She said. She would be clearing the rest of her mc entitlement of 30 days + extended mc of 10 days + 13 days of annual leave brought forward from last year. Wah..... I was concerned, was she erm... Sick? She said no, all she did was to ask her doc to issue letter for her weak knees.
Well done. Win hands down. I pity her team.

If she is caught overseas or engaged in some activities that a \"sick\" person shouldn't be doing.. then gxgx liao..

      what is gxgx?

This old bird sure knows her games.... she wont be caught overseas on those days when she's on mc de....oh..... what about being seen in sentosa RWS???? 😆[/quote]
MC is for the employee to rest at home.. not go out and hv fun at the company's expenses.

Aiya... Like I say, it's personal integrity or something along this line. Like joule said, evEn when he's mc, he stays in touch with so that things still get done. That's very good attitude. For those at the opposite end, why would they care about \"at company's expense\"? To them, using up ALL the mc and whatever is their entitlement.

I may welcome all sorts of leaves, that psle leave included, but hor, I never really feel that 14days mc is \"entitlement\". How can that be? :stupid: :slapshead: i believe maybe the employee handbook writes like that \" staff is entitled to 14days of paid medial leave...\" but really, it shd not be taken for granted.

You said "how about being seen at Sentosa RWS"…

So my reply is indirectly saying, she probably committed an act which is subjected to disciplinary actions, and can possibly be charged, if the company pursues. It is no difference from cheating if she is not feeling unwell but took MC.

In most cases, it is difficult to judge if the person is really "sick" as long as they stay behind doors.

But if out in the open and enjoying… it is quite beyond reasonable doubt that she is not feeling "unwell" enough to be unable to report for work…

I like my job, but recently because of being picked on by Madam Nazi over small things (repeatedly!)... I have been feeling quite \"sian-ji-pua\"... 🤷 Feeling that I am dragging myself to work, counting the days and months that I can quit without worrying about childcare arrangment and childcare grants... Counting the number of MC days I have taken  (and the balance I am entitled to   )

Maybe I am even willing myself to fall sick? These few days feeling cold in the office, no mood to work, wishing myself sick so that I can take 2 days MC! So, in conclusion, I stand with my belief - as someone that has seniority in position or experience, there is that duty and responsibility - but then there is the way of doing things. The outcome should be one that motivates and inspires, and not by putting people down and picking on small things. I am not the only one. My new colleague has no appetite for lunch - whenever he gets an email from Mdm Nazi or when she is in the office.

If you have to drag yourself to work, then its time to look for a new job!

There is always a bully in every office/every school/every class.

In my case, our Ms Nazi is super free (& super rude) and not really tied to any department. Works 9.30am-5.20pm timing, 2 hrs lunch, 1 hr tea-break and also 4pm Newspaper Reading Time. All our pantry drinks or biscuits are her preference brands. If there is last packet left in the container, pls do not drink/eat it...thats Ms Nazi's! She even decides where to eat team lunch or dinner. If she eats a fancy lunch, she will claim it as \"lunch discussion\".

She has the most unkind words to say to people and had made my colleagues (who are really lambs) shed tears. Quite a story about her here....

But I simply ignore her and have not spoken to her for 4 yrs now. We are NOT friends, just office colleagues. There is no emotion involved. We only discussed business when neccessary.

Ms Nazi will not affect my day at all because I simply dont give the sh*t about Ms Nazi.

Using Ms Nazi as an example, I have a nickname for her at home and use her to teach DD1 about \"bullies are everywhere\", not just in DD1's class.

Ah ok... Understand. Honestly, I don't think she is sick.

Well, my greatest relief is that I do not report to Mdm Nazi. And I hope she goes for more of her mysterious leave schemes… (she’s been working 1-2 days per week for the last 6 weeks or so; then maternity leave… so I am counting for those days to arrive, too. It’s a department of 6 staff and 2 bosses. It’s funny how she makes it all nice and rosy to the bosses, but the background work is that she puts her colleagues down, demoralises them over small things…
