Verykiasumummy, I am super impressed!! Thanks for compiling and sharing. I will sticky note the list.

Can just imagine, if many follow your list, on certain days old cucumber sold out, on other days shark melon sold out. :rotflmao: Ntuc, SS, Cold Storage & wet market better take note of demand on those days.

I second this... VKSMum... thanks for sharing. I've copied and pasted into a Word file. Ummm... maybe will need your help with specific recipes later!!

sure chen, u can post in my own home thread so i wun go out of point here... opps.. am i?? :xedfingers: :xedfingers:

I am keeping my fingers crossed that DD won't be getting her menses so soon. She is already starting to show signs of puberty and she is standing only at 133cm. DH and I are also not tall so if she can hit 1.6m, we will be ecstatic. haha.

skipping daily and stretching exercises can help...

Wow, I'm impressed too! If I were to use this menu every week, my kids should be able to overcome their underweight problem (- while I the reverse! Haha!) What else do you prepare for them other than the soups, verykiasumummy? And how much time to you spend each day just on meals preparation?

drinking soup to replace the rice should not do anything reverse to u.... lol...

other than soup, i make sure they get their daily breakfast (a must) and vege intake... usually when i'm free, or when surfing the net (or ksp), i'm multi-tasking at the same time to see if there's any new recipes to cook for them...

having been a mum so long, i know their preferences so i will try different ways to entice their appetite...

Oh, I mean the reverse as in the energy it drains me from all the cooking 😆 If I replace rice with soup only I'll be left with bones! 😂 Anyway, your menu is a good guide for me cos I cannot go without soups either! Also good to prevent kids from flushing their food down their intestines with water while having their meals!

Thanks for sharing, VKmummy. Look at all the 靚湯!

I have something to share, HK obasan boil soups a bit different from the SG mummies.

The different step is called 出水. All meat, poultries and fishes for making soup are to go thru the 出水 step, to "wash off" the filthy blood remaining and oil/fats, 肉腥味 and rid of any dirtiness of the sellers’ handling.

Boil a pot of water, bring to full boil, drop in the meat/poultries, off the stove, let it steep for 3-5mins depends on the amount of the meat. Discard the water and drain, the meat is now ready for boiling soup.

Take note that this step is almost like blanching, bigger pot of boiling water is better for ridding the filth.

PS. Don’t feel "sayang" that the meat taste/nutrient will be wasted, (like my MIL claimed) it’s this 出水 step that will make your clear soup tastier.

Goodness, dd does not lack physical activities. She is in the sch basketball team, training 2x weekly, swimming 2x weekly and everyday evening she will be out cycling or roller blading or waveboarding or playing badminton with her friends for a couple of hours.

We kind of ren le. It's the in the genes.
