thought to jump in to help
for the change in timing, you can prep 2 - 3 weeks earlier to get your DD used to the morning time so that she has a smooth transition to school.
The recess is usually 9 - 9.30am depending on the school so usually bread and cheese sustains till their recess time

How about biscuit ?another concern: breakfast....

if she is healthy as i know some of the kids can't eat biscuits as it will trigger the cough.
And usually kids like biscuits. So maybe a couple of wholemeal biscuit for her with milo can do last her till recess time.
I am not so much concern in this as i am trying hard to make DS lose weight lor
( how i wish we can switch both our kids around or half half lor  )
For DS, i have to put a stop to him continuous eating habits but when come to dinner time, he dun eat . Think he had too much food in the day.
So today i told him that he can only eat one or two slice of apple after he come back from sch at 4pm and if he still feel hungry. He had to learn to withstand the hunger till 5.30pm - 6pm when dinner is ready for him.

Been using the 四五快读 on my DS.
I think this series of chinese books is quite good to encourage and also teach the chinese " sheng zhi "
Hope this helps -

HI Crystal,
haha… my girl used to be a fussy eater… now she’s a bit better when we give NEW food for her to try… @ least she will take it… but her qty of food is still so little… she’s a tiny girl… just over 15kg lor… my DS2 is almost same wt as jiejie… (3yrs difference lor)…

reiner,
i would avoid giving cheese...i used to give my elder boy cheese cake...he cannot take anything that is slightly cold. my mum also said even morning drink, preferably warm drink. my nephew used to drink packet drink and got frequent stomach upset in school.
my ds1, i give him a warm drink and pack his breakfast to eat on the way to school. we give him 'soft' stuff such as cake...biscuits too dry. even for his sunshine bread, he requested to have the skin discarded as he said too dry to swallow. :faint:
mine is afternoon session....my worries will be him dozing off in the afternoon and all sweaty and stinky after recess as i forsee that he will be running wild during this time!

i also have 四五快读 . but didn’t proceed past first book! lol.,
i let him read his berries reader on alternate days starting from the first reader of this year…as revision. -

Oh, is your boy mildly lactose intolerant?
The cheese which I prep for DDs are either gouda or edam which I will toast it in the oven first
I avoid cold items for them in the morning too.
DD1 is currently in the afternoon session and proceeding to morning (single session) next week. So far afternoon session have been ok, yes she does reek after her school :rotflmao:
not sure how DD2 will fare since it is morning session but she has placed her reservations for olives for recess :faint:
