lol....we dont have time to shop as this trip is for the kids to play. we are going to disneyland and ocean park. dh mentioned about signing credit card..but is it safe? i told him to bring $1.2k and he said alot!! good to know that can withdraw month there...the most we use credit card as back up...but still worried about fraud.
for me, HK is one place I bring less clothes than necessary, then I buy new ones and wear back!!! :evil:jedamum:
Justforfun,
Yes, this is the teachers initiative for the graduating class. My ds2 said optional participation but he wants to join in.
Yes! I have done the packing list. Husband said my list is over board, as if going for one week! Lol. Need to review. Wonder four days, own meals, how much should I bring for family of four?
Depending on where u r staying, sometimes I even go there and buy my shower gels etc etc as it is very convenient... don't need to bring cup noodles etc as seven eleven and other food stalls are open till late!
Depending on where u are going, HK can easily sign almost every where u shop except for Markets etc... usually, for me, bare min. $1.5K Sgd, excl. credit card bills??
as taxi or airport trsf takes up some cash, small tea houses, markets etc.
IF not, can withdraw there? I tried before...
or just bring some SGD there to change at the banks etc for a small fee.
Enjoy!!! -
thanks silverhorse! must recharge before P5!!
CNS,
u can relax tonight as soon as your kid goes to bed!

Carrying too much cash is not safe either. The cash is for transport expenses and incidentals. I don't know the current figures, but generally, the interest on withdrawing cash in a foreign country is pretty high. When paying with credit card, make sure that you keep the card in sight all the time. If you're in a restaurant, don't give the card to the waiter. Go up to the payment counter and watch them swipe the card, then, of course, make sure you get you card back. Most banks will call you for confirmation when large amounts are withdrawn in foreign currencies. Check with your bank for their foreign currency withdrawal policies.

If you still intend to travel with cash, try to stash your cash in various locations. Not in your luggage on flights, cos it might be opened for immigration checks. Usually, dh, dc and I carry some cash. And I also divide up my cash. I put some in my handbag, and most in a money belt worn under my clothes. At hotels, depending on the hotel, we may keep some at the reception, some in the luggage, and some with us.
And, of course, there's travelers cheques, but you will need to carry your passport with you to use those. -
thanks Laura02!
for S$100/day, is it for 1 pax? or a family of 4? -

Is that a particular post by KSP in that forum? I browsed the first few and then the last few pages, couldn't find any posted by KSP. Too many posts in there to find page by page.
Perhaps you can copy and paste it here?
Thanks,

Xiao Hu:
I think KSP means Kiasu Parents not our forummer KSP.
