School Policy : MC on exam day

that's why i personally feel that DSA is quite important. even if it is via academic route (some people may feel that if the kid is good academically, no point going through DSA). because of such unpredictable events. son fell sick thrice last year....all 3x the week before major tests (SA1, CA2, SA2). had to cease revision and also calm the distress kid and stop him from studying. really heartache.
Really don't know what would happen if it was PSLE. -

I was running a 40 deg (thereabout) high fever the evening before my O level Chem paper. I told the GP that I would be sitting for O level the next day and I didn’t want to miss the paper. She gave me a jab and a letter to certify that I was running a high fever. She told me to rest the rest of the evening and that I should bring the letter to the invigilator the next day. I managed to drag myself to the exam hall and gave the invigilator the letter. I remember how all of us were so sick just days before son's PSLE. High fever, bad cough, sore throat. I was so worried he couldn't take the exam...even had to skip the briefing the day before.
Supposing child is sick, and had to take major exam like PSLE...how?
so I had a feeling - if I had been admitted to the hospital, I could be granted a re-sit. -

For my kids school, if on mc, a retest is given if the pupil can come within 3 days of the exam. Otherwise it is taken as a VR- Valid Reason for not taking the exam. in which case the marks for that exam is not taken into consideration. Like
If weightage is 5% CA1, 30 % SA1, 5% CA2 , 60 % SA2
Then if there is a VR for SA2 the weightage will be modified proportionally to 12.5% CA1, 75 % SA1, 12.5% CA2
DS was sick during SA1, so missed Maths and English. So the day he returned he landed up taking MT paper schedules on that day as well as Maths and English retest . Needless to say he created a record of the number of careless mistakes one can make :faint: -

In my daughter’s school:marks are adjusted from previous exam(SA1,CA1,CA2) taken.There is no retest.

Poor Buds. Take care. I think no point worry so much about exams. Just let the school do whatever adjustment they want. HEALTH is more important than marks!
My DS’s school has very clear exam policy. No re-test too. The subject that the child missed will be reported as "NA" on the report book if mc is produced. I supposed some adjustment to previous exams will be made to calculate the final combined score.

Our school policy is (3). No re-test for written papersWhat's your child's school policy if your child is sick on exam days (with mc)?
1. Schedule a re-test
2. Forfeit the paper and get a zero for missed papers
3. Forfeit the paper but marks adjusted from previous exam
4. Child can come down just to sit for paper in a separate room (due to illness)
5. Others.. (please do share)
