      HAPPYH:

      While drawing parallel lines, does it need to be accurate? When my DD drew the parallel lines (grids were given), it looked slightly slanted but the points she started and ended were correct. Anyone experienced/came across this issue? Is it acceptable for P3? Thank you in advance.

      Hi,
      The correct way is to draw it accurately parallel.
      But still it depends on (the mood of) the teacher who mark. Some teacher are considerate and will let go the small matters
      Just assume that your DD is lucky this time :evil: and do the correct one next time 😄

      Thank you

        Hi, can i get someone to englighten me in solving this question as in model drawings? Thanks.

        Book store A has 40 fewer magazines than book store B. If 130
        magazines are transferred from book store B to book store A, there will
        be twice as many magazines in book store A as in book store B. How many magazines are there altogether?

            hi tracywham,

            this is how u draw the model in one (although it might be easier to see if u try to draw 2 models (before and after))
            http://i45.tinypic.com/16412p.png\">

            from model,
            in the end, B will have 1 unit = 90 + 90 + 40 = 220
            A will have 2 units = 2 x 220 = 440
            Total = 220 + 40 = 660

                  How to do this question without guess n check?

                  The diff between two numbers is 240. When 1 number is divided by the other number, the quotient is 5. Find the sum of these two number.

                    Hi cathycho,

                    1st number is 5 units and 2nd number is 1 unit
                    4 units -> 240
                    1 unit -> 60
                    6 units -> 360

                    Cheers :celebrate:

                        Please help to solve.Thanks very much!

                        1. A, B and C baked a totl of 119 cookies. A sold 5/11 of her share while B ate 15 cookies from her share. The number of cookies C ate was 3/5 the number of cookies A sold.If each of them has the same number of cookies left, how many cookies did C bake?

                        2. Pail X, Y and Z contained 6800ml of water altogether. 1/6 of the water in Pail Z and 500ml of water in Pail Y were poured out. THe volume of water poured out from Pail X was 5 times the volume of water poured out from Pail Z. Given that the 3 pails had the same volume of water left, find the volume of water in Pail Y at first.
