        1) Will the uniform vendors be at the school during orientation and such ? [more convenient]

        2) As for the bookshop, i believe that there is a POPULAR BOORSTORE within the school compund itself, right ?

        3) As for schools like ACS(I), i understand that only some students are ellgible for the integrated programme (IP) is it the same in RI or are all students elligible for the IP ?

        4) Also, usually, how long does a average child @ RI take to complete 1 day's worth of homework ?

        5) What is the average time a student from RI finish school ?
        1) Yes. They will have store setup in one of the blocks.
        2) Yes.
        3) All students are elligible for IP
        4) It all depends on individual.
        5) About 6.30pm on CCA days.

Got the books! Total around $314 didnt get the animal farm since he'll be using jie's copy. And the socks are indeed long. Maybe he wont wear them after the first week.

 to find out that the Sciences textbk is not 1 general book but 3 O levels triple science books, same for geog.

While some kids have started sec1 tuition/self-learning, mine is still busy runescaping. šŸ˜ž

Hopefully, he'll sit down soon and at least have a look at the books we've bought.
Hi mathsparks, how did you manage to get the sec1 booklist? Do you mean they allow you to purchase the books? Last year, I was told that the school can only release the booklist on the sec1 reporting day and bookshop can only start selling after sec school posting result day. (ie. 22Dec in 2009).

I called the office and they said though they can't issue booklist yet, the bookshop can start selling to the sec1s. When dh was there yesterday, he saw a couple of other sec1 parents there also.

Being kiasu parents, we must live up to our name. Chiong there as soon as is possible. Too bad for uniforms, we've to go to shaw centre if we want to beat the crowd. So, am still thinking.

I saw the size of the report book, my jaw dropped. Also, why's the frame of the goggles red? Boy is anti-red as it's a girl color.

The goggle I bought for my son has a blue frame. Anyway, it's still untouched, in his cupboard. I asked him why he has not used the goggle and his reply was that he kept forgetting to bring everytime there was lab session. Anyway, he wore glasses.

RI is quite lax about security compared to RGS. I brought my daughter there recently. Wanted to start training her to take the public bus. Thought we'll drop in to let her familarise with the environment. We were not allowed to go into the school beyond the General Office, let alone get into the bookshop.

Eh, how come my girl who wears glasses still have to wear safety goggles in the labs?

Security not that lax i think, dh has to stop his car at the entrance, tell the guard where he's going before he's allowed in...not sure if you'able to walk in thru the gates without being stopped.
