After reading the PSLE thread, I've decided to set my pace. Will not follow school's.I have a qn for everyone...
Do you stick to current level assessments? Or go up one (or more!) level(s) -
SAHM_TAN:
Why do you need 2 sets. I one set for 3 kids.
i also a bit OCD....kekeke... all the books should be in clean and nice and \"new\" condition.... if i m free i'll wrap my books.... so when i feel that if i tear out the åå” from one set of the books... then i still have another set that is untorn.....

oooo which two topics?
Mass and measuring, and 3D shapes.
They said mass and measuring... But the new weekends books only took out mass they still included length using box and paper clips...
3D shapes... I don't think our kids have 3D shapes in this year's syllabus leh.... The new textbooks not out yet... So i think assessments books for next year p1 maybe also not to accurate yet???
As for learning directions ... I dun think i saw the topics in the new books.. Need to double check again... -
SAHM_TAN:
Looking at the frantic catch-up work a good number of my friends go through before EoY exams, I conclude that sometimes, teachers can't quite finish the syllabus with enough time for concepts to sink in... esp at higher levels.

Even at p3, i hear some parents complaining that their teachers barely finished topics tested in round 2 of gep selection (but not in round 1). -
